A Day out at Standen House | A Beale Family Christmas

Jupiter recently got a National Trust membership as this year (and into next) seems to be one where primarily only outdoor events are what we are going to be getting along too. This membership covers a lot of parks, historical houses, and areas within Britain that we are going to aim to explore. So, when checking out the Christmas section of the National Trust website, we stumbled upon Standen House, where the Beale Family once lived – and though we didn’t really know who that was, we were excited to take a look around. Standen House ended up being one of our favorite National Trust sites in Essex.

Blueberry Snowball | Aloha 65 Cocktail Recipe

*AD – the items in this review were gifted to our household for this post. All opinions, as always, are our own.

Earlier on in the year we tried out Aloha 65, a zingy spirit flavoured with notes of chilli and pineapple among other things. Normally the bottle has a warm summer theme however, as you can see in the featured image, this time we had one with a different label. One with a winter theme, and this gave us a few ideas about how the drink could be used for more than just zesty summery drinks. In fact, we decided that we’d make a drink with winter colours and a literal ball of ice tucked up inside it.

A Day Out at Weald Country Park

Jupiter really loves deer. She grew up in a small town that had a lot of deer, deer hunting, and often just wild deer wandering about. As we have been going on more creative date nights, due to most things being shut, I surprised her with a trip to Weald Country Park – which ended up being so popular, that we went back with the kids. This time of year is when all of the deer are out, making it a perfect wintertime activity. Weald Country Park is free to enter – although if you park nearby you’ll need to pay for the car park – and contains a few different park areas, trails, a pond, deer and a cafe.

Meeting Santa When you can’t go out | Wonder Adventures Review

[Ad- gifted product] Covid-19, and various other things, have made 2020 a bit of a rollercoaster when it comes to maintaining traditions. Over the last couple of year’s we’ve always made an effort to get the children along to see Santa for Christmas when we can, but what with lockdown, quarantine and more, we’ve not been able to get the children along to see him this year. Thankfully, there seems to almost always be a digital solution available for such things, and so this year – through Wonder Adventures – we still managed to get the kids a chance to chat to the big red fella, and it was fantastic.

DIY Christmas Jumper | Crafts

As Christmas Jumper Day (today) rapidly approached, we found ourselves searching online and looking from store to store for Christmas jumpers that would be just perfect for Robin and Amelia. Kai was already sorted with a very keen Xbox jumper. The two girls had a lot of wishes for their perfect sweater, and we had said they could be as particular as they wished. In the end we ended up finding a Santa-themed sweater dress that Amelia loved, but when asked if she wanted to make their own, both her and Robin fell in love with the idea. They kept mentioning making their own instead, so we decided to go forward and do just that.
