This year, we wanted to make some of our own ornaments to go on the tree. After tackling some of the crafts from our Wild & Willow box, Jupiter had the idea to make some salt dough ornaments – and it turns out they are pretty simple and easy to make. The kids each made their own, using a bunch of different cookie cutters, and Jupiter made one of the classic handprint ornaments with Pancake’s hand! It came out pretty nicely.

Willow & Wild December Sibling Box | Review
Another month has come and gone, and we’ve done another Willow & Wild box! These boxes are so much fun to do. I wasn’t sure how they’d fare in the winter months, as many of them encourage going out and about to find items, but even in the wintertime they have come up with some great crafts and activities. This month, as you can imagine, many of the activities were themed around Christmas! We took our time going through our box and, once again, I’m here to talk about the highlights.

A Day out at Belhus Woods Country Park | A Reindeer Trail
We always make sure to try and get out and about whenever we can, and we’ve recently pivoted a large amount of that to exploring nature trails and taking our walks toward landmarks and areas of natural beauty. We went to Belhus Woods Country Park, as we sought to find new places within our Tier which aren’t too far from home, and it was an absolutely fantastic discovery.

Top 5 Best Low Alcohol or Alcohol-Free Ciders
For a lot of people, the ability to go out and socialise or meet with friends is utterly essential to modern survival. In many cases that can go hand in hand with grabbing a drink or two, and now – more than ever – there’s so much choice that it can be baffling. But, if you’re not the sort to dip into a tipple or two then that widening of variety brings with it an added relief, because the alcohol-free, or low-alcohol, selection has grown as well.
Thankfully, the days where people pull faces at people drinking alcohol-free versions of drinks seem to be on the decline; and there’s a whole variety of reasons to swap out your drink for one without alcohol — from, having to drive, a busy day the next day, generally not liking the feeling anymore, and various health reasons. Say you do have a health issue, but enjoyed the taste of cider – this could be the best way for you to still have that.

A Day out at Standen House | A Beale Family Christmas
Jupiter recently got a National Trust membership as this year (and into next) seems to be one where primarily only outdoor events are what we are going to be getting along too. This membership covers a lot of parks, historical houses, and areas within Britain that we are going to aim to explore. So, when checking out the Christmas section of the National Trust website, we stumbled upon Standen House, where the Beale Family once lived – and though we didn’t really know who that was, we were excited to take a look around. Standen House ended up being one of our favorite National Trust sites in Essex.
