Things to know before Private Renting

When it comes to renting, you often can find two options; renting through a private landlord or through an agency. In the past, I have stuck to an agency, as agencies are much easier to research and hold accountable then private landlords, who are individuals who might try to take advantage of people. But, on the other hand, private renting doesn’t come with the fees to start with that agencies have and it’s often cheaper. I have gone from agency renting to private renting as my landlord left an agency, as well as privately rented straight from a landlord – and have learned a lot. Which I am here to share with you;

Taking Inventory

Taking inventory is one of the first things you’ll need to do when renting a house. This means you will need to walk through the house and point out each and every fault; minor water damage on the roof, the sink not working quite right, the carpet being a little worn in places. You should write down as many of these little things on your inventory – that way they are documented. It’s also smart to take pictures of the place before you fully move in, making sure the condition is documented on your end, in case there is anything funny happening with your deposit. Pictures can help show how the house was when you moved in, which can be useful if the landlord is attempting to withhold your deposit.

Things to know before buying a car online

You may have heard that our catalytic converter was stolen out of our car, while it sat in a car park. This meant that we needed to get a new car – and due to the nature of how our old car went out – it needed to be done fast. Unlike when a car is clearly dying, our car suddenly didn’t run, so we needed to find a new way of transport as soon as possible, which caused a lot of mistakes when it came to the purchasing itself. So, we’ve turned those mistakes into lessons and figured I’d share them with you.

Knowing where to look

You’ll find that many cars are listed on several different places; Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree and Craigslist all have the same listings for the same cars and often don’t get updated if a car is sold. This means that when we reached out, we’d often find the car had already gone, and then stumbled upon the same car in a new place. You’ll need to know where to look and be prepared to send a lot of texts/messages to find out if these cars are still around. Many of these listings have the bare minimum when it comes to information, so you’ll be expected to communicate with the seller as well.

Is long distance dating worth it?

As it’s nearly Valentines Day, everyone who isn’t currently in a relationship might be finding it particularly noticeable that they are single. More people try going on dates, others embrace being single, and some just look for companionship. When it comes to dating, there are lots of options, especially with the whole of the internet connecting the world the way it has in the last few years. Connecting people to others is a very good thing, but it can often lead to the difficulties of long distance relationships.

I’ve been in a long distance relationship before, attempting to date someone from across the ocean, in a different country. It’s a pretty hard task. There are time zone differences, you can’t ever really meet up, and there is a lot of someones life that they might not just put on the internet. This lead me to more local dating – dating someone I can physically see and hang out with because long distance dating just isn’t worth it for me. And I’d like to tell you why.

Dates are fun

5 Ways to Help Your Child Want To Learn

It seems like everyone remembers school as such a boring, needed experience. It’s where children spend most of the weekdays, trying to learn lots of different subjects so that they can be better prepared for the world. They go to school on their own, learning at the pace set by the school, but often children lose the want to actually learn whatever is being taught to them in the classroom. When children no longer want to learn, it becomes a big stress to do homework, activities, and generally get good grades. Here are a bunch of tips to help bring back the want to learn.

1. Do homework with your child

4 Top Tips for Moving House

Moving from a country to another country, like I did out of high school, is a massive task. As is moving in general – especially when you’ve lived in the house you are moving from for years, accumulating various belongings that now need to be packed up and brought to the new home. Once you have gone through all the stress of finding a new house, signing agreements and paying the large number of fees there are, the daunting task of actually moving sets ahead, so here are some tips to help with the moving process.

Sort out what you do not need before moving house

You’ve probably gathered a lot of items between moving into this house and the day you move out. People tend to purchase new items and expand to fill various spaces around them. Sorting out your items and throwing away or donating stuff you do not use or want, will really make a difference when moving in. Instead of having to sort in your new house while trying to put everything away and seeing what fits, you can just bring over what you do feel you need to keep, leaving behind whatever old items or unused items you had previously. Moving house is already a big task and taking items you do not use just ends up with wasted space and more boxes. It’s far easier to sort them before you get them into their boxes!
