[Ad- collab] Social media and what is put out into the world is often described as the best parts of people’s lives. They project what they want the world to see, and hide away anything else. Filters, editing, only showing good bits of life seem to be the go to way that people use the internet, however, I have always made it an effort to show the highs and lows of my life. I’ve shared unflattering pictures on Twitter, showed off moments of failure on Facebook and Instagram, and continued to just be – me. I don’t have much time to edit myself down to this perfect version, to filter until there is something that everyone will instantly go too.
Through this, I have found myself become more approachable – I am not this perfect person with a perfect life. I have imperfections, my skin isn’t baby soft, I am a real human who you can really see and talk too. When using dating sites, this is something to heavily consider, as it’s much better to be comfortable in your own skin as apposed to creating an image of something you are not. It’s important to continue to be yourself, even if yourself is quirky, funny, loud, not perfect.
