Lazy Flora Plant Subscription | Review

Until recently, we only had a few plants on our window in the kitchen. An orchid Dann got me as a gift, a random plant we meant to gift to a friend but were a month early to their housewarming and small, stem-y plant that Dann picked up on a whim. We really enjoy these little plants, but have been looking for some more to fill other windows in our home. When it comes to plants for indoor gardening, we often don’t know, off the top of our head, what they are, how to look after them, or if they will get along with Pancake our cat.

Plants make Dann happy and I enjoy them too – bringing a little bit of freshness and outdoors indoors. When I saw Lazy Flora advertised on Instagram, I took a look at it. The company is new and focuses on sending a different plant, either indoor or outdoor, to your home each month. You can upgrade your plan to include a pot for the plant and you can also specify if you need pet friendly plants or if you don’t mind. We went for the pet friendly plants with the pots and subscribed for two months. We got a bonus Rubber Plant for signing up to their newsletter and also ordered a terrarium.

Month One, February

Working from Home Desk Makeover

[Ad- gifted product] Before the COVID-19 Virus struck the world, I was actually trying to get my desk setup upgraded. If you follow me on Twitter, you probably know that I work from home normally, so my desk set up is my work set up. With many of the UK’s population setting up to work from home for a while, I’m seeing lots of desk redecoration and lots of people picking places for their work space. I am about half way through my desk set up and will be posting again when I am finally finished. At the moment, I have purchased loads of items slowly since January and have set them up this week, however I still have quite a few items to pick out and to be delivered.

The Before

How to make a Minecraft Ghast Pinata | DIY

[Ad- gifted product] The year is 2020, I have worked from home for my entire adult life. Working from home means I don’t tend to just nip to the shop on the way home from work, which has shaped my shopping habits. I tend to order items online as well as receive a fair bit of press packages through the post. When it comes to getting packages, I try to recycle as much as I can – putting things within the recycle bin often, but bits of packaging that I can re-purpose or add to the craft box gets put there, in hopes of having another life. Reusing packing is important to me, but so is reducing the amount of packing within these packages to begin with. There are plenty of different places to get plastic free packaging from, which is something I feel both consumers and businesses should switch too, as it is a shame to have to throw away so much harmful plastic which only had one use when it is simply not needed. That’s why I tend to make so many things out of random bits of cardboard or boxes lying around.

BETAFEM Daily Feminine Wash | Review

[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to staying clean and cleaning myself, I have always been pretty brand loyal and used a variety of different products depending on what part of my body that I am washing. Having shampoo and conditioner that reacts well with my hair is important to me, as is having separate body wash, face wash, and wash for intimate areas. The skin on your face has different needs than your hair, your intimate areas have different needs to your skin else where. Having different soaps to clean different parts of your body has always just made sense to me. BETAFEM is not a brand I had heard about previously, but when they reached out I wanted to try their feminine wash and see how it was compared to what I had already been using as the brand I had been previously using was one that I wasn’t 100% happy with, if I am honest.

Calm Coffee CBD-Infused – Cold Brew | Review

[Ad- gifted product] We both have been getting more and more into coffee, having now purchased a little single coffee brewer and started making more coffee at home to drink. I really enjoy cold brew – I’m not a huge fan of drinking hot liquids as it makes me warm quite quickly and I much rather be of a colder temperature. When Calm Coffee reached out to offer some of their CBD-infused coffee, I figured why not. I’ve previously looked at some CBD-infused dark chocolate treats, so coffee would be fun!

Dann and I got two cans of each of their cold brew drinks; an Americano and a Caffe Latte which contained oat milk – the best kind of lactose free milk. Along with it, we got a bag of ground coffee to brew. One morning, we decided to try out these cans of drinks. Both of them had been stored in the fridge and were a good size, slightly smaller than an energy drink. The idea behind adding CBD-oil into coffee is to bring down the jittery feeling that comes with drinking too much coffee or drinking coffee too quickly, which does make a lot of sense.
