Niche perfumes and why they’re so interesting

Everyone likes to smell good. When it comes to scents, it might be a bit overwhelming for both you and your nose to pick out the scents that are best for you, and it feels like that’s why people sometimes gravitate towards big brands and well known scents – you know ones that everyone has. Niche perfumes, by definition, are perfumes that are a bit different – they won’t be the same huge brands you see at your local shops, and instead are smaller lines of perfumes that are often more transparent about how they are made and what goes into them. As niche perfumes are so different, they are actually really interesting as a whole.

Pretty Suds May 2021 Bath Bomb Box | Review

This month, we have actually moved house! And with moving house, had a bit of an issue when it came to getting all of our addresses updated, so we ended up getting our box quite late in the end. It also took a lot of talking to Pretty Suds‘ customer service, which is delightful and easy to email and communicate with. This theme was “pixels” and as someone who works in games, I was pumped to get the box! As always, this is probably my favorite subscription box and we love adding all of these delicious smelling bath bombs to our bathroom, to be used up on bath days!

Pretty Suds April 2021 Bath Bomb Box | Review

A bit late, but we are finally settled into our new house, so I can finally write about our Pretty Suds box for April! This box had the theme of Perfect Storm, which contained a few favorites from about a year ago, as well as three new bombs I have never seen. It’s also worth mentioning that Pretty Suds have posh boxes now. Previously, the bombs have come in brown boxes that just contained the bombs themselves. This time, the box was purple, presenting the bombs well, and had the Pretty Suds logo on the outside – making it feel quite posh. But, let’s get into the bombs themselves.

During lockdown, you might have neglected your hair care – it was a really easy thing to do. With salons shut, nowhere to go, etc, it’s been a challenge for me to take care of my own hair, myself. You might find that as a result, your hair needs a little bit of life brought back into it. You might be battling split ends, frizzy hair, and a lack of volume and shine. Luckily, there are actually a lot of different ways to bring life back to your hair – though it is worth experimenting, depending on your own hair and hair care needs, to find what’s best for you.

The Somerset Toiletry Company Verbena Collection | Review

[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to bathroom products like soaps and hand wash, it’s much better to know exactly what is going into the product, to understand what is going into your skin and influencing your body. The Somerset Toiletry Company provides luxurious products, while also being honest about the ingredients that are in these products. They aim to use natural extracts and have lines that are completely paraben and SLS free. All of their items are in-house tested, and are free from animal cruelty, so much so, that they do not sell into China as they do not want to risk any animal cruelty as a result. To top things off, their brand is inspired by their British heritage, coming from the beautiful countryside, where their head office is located.

The Somerset Toiletry Company has a huge collection of Verbena scented products, as apart of their Naturally European collection – which is completely paraben and SLS free, as previously mentioned. I got the chance to check out three items from this selection to see what our household thought of them! Now, if you don’t know what verbena smells like, it’s more of a grassy, lemon smell – feeling natural instead of like cleaning liquid that is lemon scented. It’s a lovely smell that isn’t too overwhelming.
