Alton Towers Pirate Takeover and Splash Landings Hotel

It is one of our yearly traditions to go to Alton Towers during the February half term. They have on this Pirate Takeover event, which has a limited area of the park open. There is a deal that allows you to book up a day at Splash Landings Hotel, the night over at the hotel, and then go to the park the next day (or the reverse of that, really it’s up to you). We love amusement parks and hotels, so this is such a fun time for everyone.

Harlow Chinese School Cooking Course – Buns, Soup and Pork

After discovering the Harlow Chinese School‘s cooking courses earlier this year, we were anxiously awaiting the next course to attend. As they are aiming to do this each and every month, we were prepared for March. The cooking course this time had a big variety of food; stuffed buns, flower buns, corn and chicken soup, and char siu pork. Unlike the last time we attended, some of the food that was being made was demonstrated only this time, but we really did get our fill of knowledge and food.

A Day Out at Borough Market

Dann and I love going to food markets, and one of our favorites is Borough Market! Though we do not get there often enough, when we go, we always have a fantastic time. Borough Market has a bunch of street food stands, as well as stands that sell a number of artisanal products. We’ve previously gone there to purchase cheese, smoked meats, and chutneys for fantastic charcuterie boards! It’s also just a fun location to explore, though on the day we went, it was very busy. Our goal was to get a few dishes to eat for a late lunch / early dinner.

AirHop Chelmsford – Bouncing to great heights

Previously, we have attended JumpStreet in Chelmsford, to go on the rock walls. The location is sort of divided into three sections; rock walls, soft play, and a trampoline park. Now that JumpStreet has been rebranded to AirHop, we felt it was fitting to check out more of the new features, which are all in the trampoline section of the place. This area has a lot to do; trampolines, arcade-style games involving jumping, dodge ball, massive slides, knock-off-platform areas, and a soccer arena type place with targets!

Houdini’s Greatest Escape – Touring Performance

[Ad- gifted experience] Dann and I were excited to see Houdini’s Greatest Escape at Northampton’s Royal & Derngate, a new venue that we had not attended before. This performance is traveling all around England, so it is well worth seeing if your local theatre has a performance going, especially as it was such a spectacular, funny show!
