Dinner and Games at Draughts Hackney

[Ad- gifted experience] Draughts is a board game bar that has a few different locations in London! Dann and I decided to invite a bunch of friends to Draughts in Hackney, where we had some food and enjoyed some board games. As you can play both longform and short board games here, they work on a sort of booking slot time, where you can pay a fee to come in and enjoy their collection of games for a set amount of hours, ordering any food and drinks you’d like to have on top of that fee.

Harlow Chinese School Cooking Course – Dumplings

The Harlow Chinese School Cooking Class have started back up for the year, with the first one being Dumplings! The first class of the school year was packed, with everyone creating either boiled or fried dumplings with a meat or vegetarian filling. Dann and I went with the meat filling, which had meat in it, along with a specific flavoring packet that is sort of like a seasoned soy sauce, but less liquid.

Exploring Pleasurewood Hills Family Theme Park

A few years back, when on holiday in Great Yarmouth, we went to Yarmouth Pleasure Beach. Since then, we’ve wanted to check out their sort of sister park; Pleasurewood Hills. Pleasurewood Hills Family Theme Park is meant to be a long-standing, classic amusement park perfect for the whole family. The park itself opened in 1983, so there are some classic rides that can be found there.

Weekend Away with Abbey Holidays in Scotland

[Ad- gifted experience] We are always looking to explore new places and a weekend away always feels like such a good time to reset. Dann and I actually went with Abbey Holidays Loch Ness, who put us up in The Highland Club in one of their apartments for three nights in the middle of the week, doing a sort of working from somewhere else trip. The Highland Club is right in Loch Ness, which neither of us had ever explored previously, so we were excited to be going to a new area!

Loch Ness is very touristy, it’s a place that feels ideal for a slow-paced holiday. The Highland Club is a short walk from Loch Ness, right at the top of the town. It’s easy to walk to restaurants, take an explore around Loch Ness, and even take a cruise through the middle. We spent a lot of our time relaxing on this holiday, which was just what we needed! This place is ideal for families as well as individuals just looking to get away and connect in nature. As we went in Autumn, all of the mountains and leaves were absolutely beautiful – it was like something out of a fairy tale.

Night out at Cammas Hall Bonfire Night

We went to Cammas Hall earlier in the year for Strawberry Picking and more recently for their Pumpkin Patch, but were delighted when Amelia’s friend’s parents invited our family to the Cammas Hall Bonfire Night so that all of our kids could hang out and have a good time in the evening! We had not been before, however they had, and we were pretty excited to finally try all of the food carts there, as it felt like the perfect excuse to try out dinner at the venue. It’s worth noting this event is paid by car, not by person, and only happens for two days of each year.
