Midweek Meal Inspo; Sausage Pasta, Fish Tacos, Cursed Lasagna & more

Now that we are back from our holidays, it’s time to get back to cooking dinner! This week has been really lovely when it comes to cooking dinner. When school was in session, Kai was really interested in cooking dinner, but it sounded like that was due to his cooking class at school. During the holiday, he hadn’t shown much interest but there had also not been time for us to really cook together while on holiday, as we mostly ate out. This week, he looked at the menu board in the kitchen, and stated he wanted to cook specific dishes, so that he could learn them. This is great to see. Amelia and Robin have also been asking to cook, so it’s been all hands on in the kitchen.

Trying Nepalese cuisine at The Gurkhas Restaurant

[Ad- gifted experience] I do not think I have ever had Nepalese cuisine before, so when Dann and I were invited to try some of the menu at The Gurkhas Restaurant, we both were pretty excited to try something so new to us! The Gurkhas was founded by Shrabaneswor Rai, who is Nepal born and is also the co founder of a few different restaurants in Islington. The head chef, himself, and his father-in-law were all inspired by the heritage of the Himalayas to create their menu.

Midweek Meal Inspo; Orange Chicken, Chili, Teriyaki Salmon & more

I am really enjoying this midweek meal post, as it’s been great to share the variety of food we eat in our home and showcase what we all really enjoy. It’s also been great for inspiration in our own house and to show what we all really enjoy together! It’s been another block of time, so I have put together all of the meals that we have had recently! We do tend to have a variety of different meats during the week, and this week includes a vegetarian meal that we often have!

Another batch of meals has been made, as every single day we do eat dinner! As it’s been nice, warm weather out here lately, so we have been having meals that are a bit lighter and take less cooking to do then others. Some of this weeks foods came as suggestions from Robin and Amelia, while others were classics that we felt like having. Amelia was the biggest kitchen helper this week and did a lot of cooking with me, which was super fun! Anyway, let’s get into some meal inspiration for the week!
