Lizi’s Granola – Perfect for Crumbles

[Ad- gifted products] When it comes to granola, we often eat them as parfaits with yogurt, a staple easy breakfast for our household. There are actually a lot of different granolas on the market; some with fruit pieces, some with seeds, some that are quite plain in flavor too. Lizi’s Low Sugar Nuts & Seeds Granola is an actually a pretty fun granola, despite saying low in sugar, with a bunch of seeds and nuts throughout it. Robin had a fun time picking out the different seeds and trying them individually, as she hadn’t had seeds before! We also tried their Maple and Pecan, which has my favorite nuts in them and a nice amount of sweetness.

Lots of Tapas at Novo Lounge

Dann and I actually went to Novo Lounge when it first launched, taking our children with us. We ended up having a bit of a chaotic time, particularly due to some picky eaters who weren’t really sure what they were ordering before it arrived. We’ve been back a few times to grab drinks during their happy hour, but decided to try them out again for dinner, with a friend of ours, after an evening of playing Pokemon Go. Novo Lounge has a lot of community activities going on; drag bingo, board game nights, and on this particular night there was salsa practice happening! It’s great to see a venue become such a staple in the community and fun that they run so many events.

Making Flavored Yogurt with Easiyo

Easiyo is a different way to create yogurt; it’s a sort of device that you can easily add yogurt mixes into it, make sure they are up to temperature, then wait a few hours and you suddenly have yoghurt.

Midweek Meal Inspo; Spooky Burgers, Calzones, Spooky Meatballs and more

We have been having more spooky or Halloween inspired food, as it’s such a fun time of the year. Along with these more labor intensive food, I’ve been making some Italian food that I find quick and easy. This week’s meals are a mix of both, so some classics everyone will love and some beautiful decorated spooky food that really will impress anyone who sees them.

Spooky Meatballs

I was inspired to be cute and spooky, so I tried making some spooky meatballs, two ways. Amelia doesn’t like cheese, so I made her some homemade meatballs and then wrapped them with puff pastry to create a mummy. I also took a bunch of meatballs, cooked them, and then put them on a baking tray. I then added a slice of cheese to the top of them. I feel that it might have come out better with some of those burger cheese slices, instead of real cheddar, but it did melt over the meatballs and became a sort of ghost! We served this over pasta with tomato sauce.
