Choosing a school for your child might feel a bit like dating. You’re searching for that perfect match. The place where your child can grow, feel safe, and thrive academically and emotionally. And let’s face it, there’s a lot to think about from teaching styles, safety, sports, after-school clubs, and whether the vibe just feels right.

The good news? With a little research and a healthy dose of intuition, you can find a school that checks all the boxes (and maybe even a few you didn’t know existed). Here’s how to do it without losing your sanity along the way.

Start With Your Child, Not the School

Before looking at glossy brochures or touring campuses, think about your child. Every kid learns differently, and understanding their unique personality will guide you toward the right environment.

The Ultimate Family Emergency Prep Checklist

Life has a way of throwing surprises such as storms, power outages, sudden evacuations, or even week-long blackouts. The best defense against uncertainty is preparation. Having an emergency plan doesn’t mean expecting disaster but means building peace of mind for any situation.

A well-stocked emergency kit ensures that every family has what they need to stay safe, comfortable, and connected when things don’t go as planned. Below is a detailed, practical checklist designed to help households prepare for any scenario with confidence.

Cover the Basics

When disaster strikes, essentials come first. The rule of thumb is to have at least three days’ worth of supplies for each person, though a week’s supply is ideal if space allows. Skating at Wheelie Roller Disco

We do enjoy trying out new things in our local area! When there are new, kid-friendly events, we see if our children want to go and give it a shot. When I saw that Wheelie Roller Disco was coming to our area, I was interested! As a child, I spent a lot of time at a roller rink local to me, skating for years, but stopped when I was 14 or so. We have gone ice skating several times, which is very similar to roller skating in a lot of ways. Robin also got a pair of skates for Christmas a few years back, that she uses in the kitchen often, so she was pumped. Kai wanted to go to the gym and had no interest, and Amelia was cautions, but wanted to try something new.
