Eating Pastries in Café Central

In Austria, we had a lot of pastries in well known places. One of these places were Cafe Central – a cafe with a line all the way around the block. We had a local showing us around, so we were able to know when the line wouldn’t be so long, and got there in time for first seating at breakfast! Some of their menu is only available at lunchtime, while other aspects of their menu are specific for breakfast, so it is worth making sure they have the foods you’d like to try when you go. We were very excited to eat here as the pastries looked SO stunning! I do not know the name of any of the cakes we had as we went up to the window and pointed at the ones we wanted to try.

A More Traditional Dinner at Grätzlheuriger

When it comes to Austria, I hadn’t really known what was traditional and what was not. I’ve been to Germany a handful of times, which feels similar in vibes, so was excited to try some more traditional food when visiting Austria. When we landed, we went to Grätzlheuriger, which has Austrian and Slovak food. The inside of the restaurant is very cozy and quant, which feels traditional, without being flashy. The staff were very kind to us English speakers and gave us English menus, that also had a picture side, which was very helpful as some of the translations were a bit perplexing to me!

6 Course Meal at London Steakhouse Company Marco Pierre White

[Ad- gifted experience] Dann and I do love a romantic dinner out, and the six course tasking menu at London Steakhouse Company, by Marco Pierre White, is a fantastic, intimate, date spot perfect for Valentine’s Day. Dann and I have previously been to one of Marco Pierre White’s other restaurants, which had a more casual approach, so we were excited to try out this one as well. There was a doorman who took our coat, hung it up, and then we got seated. Their 6 course meal had a menu with a few set items and some items to choose from – and we also selected things from the cocktail menu. Now, it’s worth mentioning that the lighting here was quite dim, moody, and romantic. So, it was a touch challenging to actually take pictures, but we did very much enjoy our evening together.

Eating Authentic Ramen at Tokyo Ramen Takeichi

Whenever we travel to any country for Pokemon Go, it’s likely that our friends Molly and Husky are there. And if they are there, they always recommend the best ramen places! Husky, like me and Dann, loves ramen – so he hunts out different places and tries them all. Tokyo Ramen Takeichi seems to be a franchise, with a few different locations, but we went to the one in Amsterdam! This chain started in Japan, known for it’s heathy ramens, and has expanded into Europe over the years.

Dinner at Cote

[Ad- gifted experience] Dann and I have actually previously been to Cote, as it’s a French chain restaurant, that always has seasonal specials that rotate. Last time we went to one in another nearby town, Dann had one of the specials, which he very much liked. I had the beef Bourgoin, which I was inspired to make at home for our family. This time, however, we were going to the one in Welwyn Garden City, though it’s very much the same vibe as the one we’ve gone to before.
