[Ad- gifted experience] The Polka Theatre is our favorite children’s theatre to attend! We’ve been there quite a few times over the years – and it’s really designed with little ones in mind. There is a dress up area, a bunch of toys, and a reading area while you are waiting for your show to start. There is also an outdoor play area enclosed, and a cafe. We’ve loved exploring this area over the years and feel it really creates such a great atmosphere and makes this theatre feel like a community hub!

Ickworth’s Light Nights | Wintertime Light Walks
Each and every year, Dann, Claire and I all go to a wintertime light walk, checking out all of the Christmas decorations and feeling the festive season. This year, Claire picked out Ickworth’s Light Nights, which isn’t particularly Christmas-themed, and felt very unique to other light walks we’ve previously been on!

Best Christmas Days Out for Families 2023
We love to get out and about, especially on the days our children are off school! During the holiday season, there are a lot of lovely, themed places to visit in and around Essex, that can make the holidays shine even more than ever! Some of these places have options to meet Santa himself, others are just fun activities that are only available during the Christmas months. Either way, I am sure you will find an activity you and your family enjoy.

Best Wintertime Light Walks in England
Winter is a magical time of year, and even though England doesn’t generally get a bunch of snow so the most magical thing to sort of walk around and look at, in my opinion, is the various Winter Light Walks! These light walks are all ones we have attended, that we enjoyed. It’s worth noting that each year they might have a different theme or new light encounters that add a bit of new flair to the event.

A Day Out at BeWILDerwoods
While out at Waxham Sands, we really wanted to spend a day doing a big, outdoor family event. A while back, Robin had brought home a flyer from school about BeWILDerwoods. This place wasn’t near to us, so now that we were in the area, we decided to book up a day of adventure for all of our family. BeWILDerwoods is a massive, outdoor, forest-adventure place where you can explore around a bunch of different play parks and areas that have large slides, big rope walks, and mazes. Along with this, there is an over-arcing story that is told through puppet shows and book-statues around the park, making everything link together.
