We went hard going to a lot of Legoland special events in the last few years. Legoland became one of our favorite places to go too, and after a year of amusement parks, we took a bit of a pause this year and haven’t been visiting, however Robin really wanted to go to Brick or Treat. As this is such a fun Legoland event, we decided to book up tickets on the first Saturday of the event and go! This year, they have added a lot of new, fun things along with all of the key aspects of Brick or Treat.

A Weekend Away at Waxham Sands
We love adventures, we love weekends away, and we love the beach! I am so surprised I have never been to Waxham Sands before – though we have had a holiday in Great Yarmouth nearby, we had not gone to this specific area. Dann’s mother owns an RV and rented a plot at Waxham Sands for the weekend and invited us to come up to have a little family adventure! We went up Saturday afternoon and then came back Sunday evening. There were a few places we visited nearby, but this post will primarily be about Waxham Sands.

A Day Out to Herne Bay Pier
We do spend a lot of time at the beach! As someone who grew up landlocked, I really just love the beach and the sounds of the ocean. As we have three children that all love swimming about and playing in water, they love going to the beach too. We have a local beach we really love going too, but with so many sunny days in a row, we wanted to check out somewhere new and found Herne Bay Pier!

A Day Out at Waffles & More
Waffles & More have opened up a branch in Harlow, and Dann really wanted to go there for his birthday! Not for the waffles and sweet treats, but for the “more”. You see, Waffles & More have a big sign outside about their upstairs arcade. On the first day they opened, Dann went up there and had a little sneak peak, and since has been trying to get someone, anyone to have a birthday party in their arcade.

A Day Out at Exmoor Zoo
While on holiday, we wanted to do a few activities that the children picked! One of the things that all three of them kept asking to do was go to a zoo. As we are a child-focused house, we looked up the local zoos (there were two) and picked the one that we felt was best – Exmoor Zoo. We went to Exmoor Zoo on a slightly overcast day, where the weather wasn’t very hot and there were a few drizzles of rain. The staff at the zoo said this was the best time to visit animals, as they wouldn’t be hiding from the sun and would be out getting fresh air – and they were right!
