Finding Colorful Penguins at Waddle-On-Sea

The weather has been fantastic lately, so we have been by the seaside! We went with our whole family on Friday, but our focus was collecting sea glass, having a picnic, and exploring arcades. While there, Dann and I spotted a few colorful penguins, so decided to come back on our own at the weekend so that we could find some more. We came along with one of our friends, as there was a Pokemon event on, so we could collect some seaside Pokemon and spot some penguins! This penguin trail was Waddle-On-Sea, a yearly event that takes place from the start of July until the start of September, providing a trail of Penguins throughout Southend-on-Sea and Leigh-on-Sea!

Watching The Baddies at Cadogan Hall Theatre

[Ad- gifted experience] The Baddies is a very popular children’s book written and illustrated by Julia Donaldson, which has been turned into an hour long stage performance! We went along to the show at Cadogan Hall Theatre, which was a new theatre for us. There is a main hall, where they had a background for pictures and a little stand selling The Baddies book, along with other items from other books written by the same author. There was also a little bar and a lot of seating – with plenty of options for snacks for children.

Picking Our Own Wild Flowers at Writtle Sunflowers

Dann and I often go to a pick your own flower place, but after last year’s confetti flower farm, Amelia had asked if she could come along! So, while Kai was off doing his work experience, Amelia, Robin, Dann and I headed to Writtle Sunflowers, to pick our own sunflowers and wildflowers. Writtle Sunflowers is located at Pooty Pools Farm, which has been farmed by the Metson family for over 100 years, with three generations of the family currently working on the farm.

Enjoying Balloons and Tunes UK

Were I lived in America, we had hot air balloons all the time. It was normal to be driving down the road to the shop and see hot air balloons flying in the summertime. My cousin, right now, in America, drives hot air balloons. It’s always been something that felt magical and fun! In the United Kingdom, it more rare to see hot air balloons, as it always seems too windy for them – but we were excited to attend the Balloons and Tunes UK event, specifically their Essex one, as they are bringing balloons, tunes, and entertainment all around the UK.

Seaside Cupcake Class with Sweet Designs by Jennie

It’s been another month, so Amelia and I excitedly went along to another cupcake class with Sweet Designs by Jennie, this time it was a new design; seaside cupcakes, perfect for the beautiful weather we had been having lately. Sweet Designs by Jennie hand-creates these designs based on what has inspired her, and as it’s seaside weather, she thought about the seaside. This class was primarily done with fondant work, and as usual, it’s on the smaller side with 6 people attending at once. We are regulars here, so we know quite a few of the others who attend, and this class had some great vibes!
