Picking our Tree at Christmas Wrapped Up

Having a real tree is something that just feels magical! Being able to bring home a bit of the indoors for a little bit is something we’ve always done as a family. For the last couple of years, we’ve really grown to love our tradition of going to Christmas Wrapped Up, which is a local tree farm that feels so fancy. They sort of make an experience out of getting these trees. Behind the actual bit where they are selling their trees that have been freshly cut, they do have their growing trees ready for people to take pictures in, which we hadn’t explored until this year!

There was a photographer taking some fantastic family photos in this little grotto, which was lovely to see! We had a wonder around before settling in on our tree. Christmas Wrapped Up has a great variety of different sizes. We always pick one a bit too big for our house, but never mind once it is in and set up. They wrap up the tree and then offer to deliver it, often the same day. There is a fee, depending on how far you are away, but it always feels very reasonable. We had our tree from Christmas Wrapped Up delivered, as we cannot fit our entire family and a tree in the car, so it’s easier. Once we had picked out our tree, we went inside the barn area to check out the decorations.

Inside, they offer out spiced, warm apple juice (Robin always gets normal apple juice, as it’s a bit weird on her stomach) to sip on as you walk around. There are tons of beautiful wreaths and stunning outdoor decorations, along with a photo set up to take a picture. The owner offered to take our picture this year and said she remembered us from last year as well, which is lovely. They also have a big bin of potatoes here, grown by a local farmer, that is pay-what-you-want going to the British Heart Foundation. We always get a bag too and this year you could scan a QR code and donate, which was a big plus for us as we rarely carry cash!

Inside the inner area of the barn at Christmas Wrapped Up, there are hundreds of decorations which are sort of themed in each area, creating stunning displays. There are new decorations each year and we all always pick out some! This year, Kai, feeling like an edgy teenager got a beer. Amelia got a very beautiful blue ornament and Robin went back and forth on a few different ornaments, settling on a crescent roll. It’s a fun little collection to add to what we already have.

The tree came on time, the delivery driver helped us get it into our house, and we set it up that evening letting the whole thing air out so the branches would fluff up. Christmas Wrapped Up is just a fantastic, local Christmas tree farm that we always enjoy!
