Coconut Bowls

[Ad- gifted Product] When it comes to sustainability, finding a way to take discarded items and make them into something usable is an important part. Many, many resources are just discarded instead of made into something new and useful. Global 1st has taken discarded coconut shells and turned them into unique, hand-crafted bowls and spoons that add a lot of character to any meal.

Coconut Bowl

Made from discarded coconuts from Thailand, these bowls all look very unique and tropical, which present super well on the dinner table. They work with both hot and cold items and wash easily (but cannot be placed in the dishwasher. When I first got my coconut bowls, I was concerned that the inside of the bowls (which are slightly lighter in color) might start to stain – but they have not, and I have eaten quite a few different dishes from them! Each bowl is slightly different in shape and they all hold quite a bit of food. The only negative to these bowls is that the bottom of them aren’t always flat. Out of the four that I have, only one has a perfectly flat bottom, so if you put them on the table to eat out of, they might wiggle around a bit. This might seem obvious, as they are all made of coconuts, but it’s worth mentioning anyway.

The spoons themselves are a great size and look super awesome. They work well as spoons, though they aren’t very deep and they, of course, don’t have the same texture as metal spoons you might be used too. Instead, they do feel slightly wood-like on my lips, but they don’t feel uncomfortable or like they are going to splinter! It’s just a slightly different texture. You can, if you really aren’t a fan of new textures, use whatever spoons you already have. These spoons provided with the coconut bowls are great for serving things like dips out of the bowls.

I love the size of these bowls as well as the general aesthetic they bring to your table. They are a talking point if friends are over, great for general use, and feel really fun. After putting them in our cupboard, they have been the go-to bowl for everyone in our family – just because they are so unique and fun. They don’t weight as much as our old bowls and can take a few tumbles or knocks, so they do work well for children as well.

You can purchase your own Coconut Bowls and Spoons on Global 1st.
