Donut Dunk – Fast paced card game

[Ad – Gifted Products] Donut Dunk is a light up, fast paced card game where you have a giant talking donut doing all of the moderating of the game itself! It’s a simple game to learn, a quick game to play, and it’s super engaging. Setting up for Donut Dunk is as easy as counting out some cards, putting the remaining face down, and then just keeping track of your own turn so that you don’t mess it up.

You see, the donut will be changing colors as you move from person to person. You will have to see what color it is for your turn, then place in cards of the same color from your hand, one at a time. If a card goes the wrong way around, you’ll need to draw two from the face down deck. If the donut announces you were late to place in, you will have to do the same. If you do not have a card of the color showing, you do need to draw one card from the deck as well, so it’s a little bit of luck. Your goal is to run out of cards, so you’ll have to watch and react quickly!

Donut Dunk is fast – not only because the donut is choosing the lengths of your turn, but also because it’s a quick-fire game with not so many cards to get through in your hand at the start. Some do skip other people’s turns, some reverse the rate of play, and some give you an extra turn. These sort of changes need to be called out, due to how fast the donut is moving, but you can also place your hand on the donut’s face to pause then tap the mouth button to start again at any point. The gameplay continues until someone runs out of cards and declares Donut Dunk.

Donut Dunk is on the louder side of the traditional board game, but it’s one that toes the lines between card game and toy. I quite enjoy how easy it is to set up and play and how much fun the donut itself is. Robin found it to be so silly and fun, and she does love a good donut themed game!
