[Ad – Gifted Products] We play a board game or card game every other Monday, while at Geek Retreat! This little afterschool tradition has become such a fun part of our Monday. This time, we played Fuzzballs Pizza Thief Card Game – which is a very interesting, more complex than normal game. Fuzzballs are these adorable cat characters, which Robin has a few toys of. They are quirky, silly, and often eating pizza. In this card game, you are actually planning a pizza party for them but need to make sure they have the perfect amount of pizza.

Fuzzballs Pizza Thief Card Game is all about hand management. You each have a hand of cards and need to play pizza cards either upside down or right side up, face down, in a pizza party to determine how many slices they need, while playing cards in front of you to “order” the number of pizza slices you think they need. You’ll be using the numbers (one side is minus, one side is plus) to create a specific number of pizza slices for the party. The party is starting soon, which is decided through a Party Time, so you need to be on your toes playing cards.

The party time is counting down through event cards being played, which have a timer number on them. These cards often also mess with the number of pizza slices that are needed. There are lots of cards in Fuzzballs Pizza Thief Card Game that allow you to mess with the party timeline and with the other players on the table, creating a game that has more strategy than Robin, Amelia and I are use to.

With that in mind, this does feel like a game that’s ideal for older audiences, especially ones that like messing with each other! We did like the designs of the cats and their chaos factors – which were a lot of fun. The little Fuzzballs are just such a cute design and it’s neat that they’ve created a card game. Amelia got on with the actual thinking and strategy pretty well, but it is not possible to see everything and completely predicte how many pizza slices you fully need, so it’s down to whoever is close enough.

I loved reading about Fuzzballs Pizza Thief and the pizza party theme sounds like so much fun. A quick 20 minute game like this is perfect for family game nights. Corinne x
