[Ad- gifted product] We love Halloween! When it comes to decorations, we spend a lot of time decorating our house, from top to bottom. This year, we have tasked with doing the front door thanks to Font Bundles! We wanted to do something quite classy and that made sense for our household, so we went with the bat theme! Making your own door decorations isn’t a challenging task and can be done with just a few steps, really! Despite how easy it is to make, there is a big impact when you see so many little bats and words across the door!
First, we cut out a bunch of bats using black card. They were quite simple to make and even if you draw incorrectly or don’t follow the lines, you can make this the back of your bat. We picked out a lovely WELCOME sign from DesignBundle which also contained bats. These new bats, we printed more of, to make little baby bats to go in-between our major bats. This took quite a bit of cutting so do get comfortable!
There are also tons of different free fonts to help you create the best wording for yourself! With so many to choose from, I am sure you can find exactly what you want for the mood of your front door. When it comes to the fonts, you have the text file so you can easily use them to make your own spooky phrasing and words, to accompany your door. These text files are easy to instil, as you can just drag them into your fonts folder on your computer.
Once we had everything cut out and taped to the door, we added (maybe too much) cob webs to the light – and ta da! We also found some smaller bat window clings, from last year’s Halloween collection, to put on the window too. These downloads were quite easy to resize and use, which made them perfect for printing and using in our quite simple door. We’d totally also get this doormat if we were able to get a doormat printed in time for Halloween – but for now, we are saving it for next year!
Halloween is the perfect time of year to find the best decorations and make the most of it, especially as this year the celebrations seem to be quite different from previous years. Having our door decorated brings a lot of joy to us each time we enter our house. We plan on adding some real pumpkins next to the owl pumpkin decoration by the door and fluff out that area with some of our own. Normally, we carve and draw on our pumpkins closer to Halloween, due to how quickly they tend to start to rot. Our door will surely be the talk of our street, as I have not actually seen many decorated doors this year!
This post is apart of our Blogtober series, all with a Halloween or Autumn theme.
