It’s spooky season, so it only makes sense that Sweet Designs by Jennie has a cupcake class perfect for a Halloween Party. Each month, Amelia and I go to these cupcake decorating classes as a bit of mother-daughter bonding. It’s been roughly a year since we started going, so we were hyped to see these Halloween Wreath designs, as wreaths are quickly becoming our favorite types of classes.

Unlike a traditional cupcake class, wreaths are ten cupcakes instead of six. This gives us much more to create and decorate with, which is always a joy. Much like all of Sweet Designs by Jennie’s classes, we got some drinks when we came in and everything was set up for us, so that we could get right into crafting all of our different toppers. Wreaths are a bit more free-form in design, with everyone creating toppers and then placing them however they want.

We started off the class by creating the Happy Halloween (or Halloween Happy if you did them in the wrong order like me) fondant decoration that sits in the middle of the wreath. From there, we then started all of our stamped out items; skeletons and mummies. These stamps were very, very cute and I had a fun time getting the designs just right on them. These needed to sit on the side for a bit to harden. We then made our pumpkins, similar to the Hello Autumn class, and some witches hats.
The witches hats were completely new, in the way that they were designed. We very much enjoyed making the thin brims, which Amelia didn’t quite get at first, but once she did she was well excited! The eyeballs were another fun one to make, as we got to draw on them with edible markers -something very new. Once all of our little pieces were done we started icing our cupcakes.

Sweet Designs by Jennie did a fantastic job of guiding us, as always, through all of the steps to make everything. This class had two gluten free people, one dairy free person, and then us too. She had carefully labelled everything so we all knew which items were ours, a lovely touch. We got our cupcakes, frosted them with some very vibrant (and delicious butter cream), then started plopping on our sprinkles and decorations! I think these came out so fun, and I ended up giving my ten to Dann’s DnD group for their Halloween campaign day. They all were so impressed and loved them. Amelia’s we ate up at home.
You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!
