Happy Confident Me Journal

[Ad- gifted product] In the last few weeks the world has sort of taken a weird turn. With schools shutting down and people in a panic, this journal has come at a very good time. The Happy Confident Company has released journals aimed at children to promote mindfulness and help with essential life skills. Specifically, we got the Happy Confident Me Journal. This beautiful journal is chock full of different questions and pages, meant to be used daily to keep things interesting and engaging.

The Happy Confident Me Journal has a little bee friend that walks children through the purpose of the journal and helps guide them through various pages and feelings. The first few pages are dedicated to listing different feelings and understanding why the book is helpful and a guide to how each page works, as well as some drawing pages for children to go wild on.

Happy Confident Me Journal

It takes about 5 minutes to fill in each day and it’s lovely to reflect back on the positive days or to write down your feelings at the time and work through them, something that the bee friend within the book talks about doing. We gave this journal to Amelia, who loves to write but is on the quiet side, so we figured she would be the best of the three when it came to using this book to better understand her emotions and express them.

The first few day, she wanted some guided help with the journal, often asking for review as it her answer could be correct or incorrect. After a few conversations about there being no right or wrong answer – and after explaining that she didn’t need to have us approve the answers – she got into the habit of it and started using the journal on her own.

After a few days, the Happy Confident Me Journal made it’s way next to her bed, where she does take a look each day and fills out the various questions, as well as reads the inspirational quote. Normally this is done after school or dinner – it’s something she is very excited about and seems to really enjoy. The dotted pages have also seen a fair bit of drawing and games, which she does with her siblings.

Happy Confident Me Journal

The Happy Confident Me Journal has been a very positive addition to our house and we do feel it’s set up in a child friendly way that’s not overly childish. It’s cute to look at each page; The happy bee is nice and the fonts and colouring are exciting and engaging. This journal is a great resource, especially while times are tough and children are currently being kept at home, away from school.

What a great idea! I haven’t seen anything like this for kids before. It sounds like it will be really helpful in the current climate, it must be especially scary for children.

Hi…I just wanted to reach out and say thank you. My name’s Daniel and I’m the designer/illustrator of the Happy Confident Me Journal.
This project became a total labour of love from the start and working with the Happy Confident Team was fantastic as we all shared the one common goal of producing a book that we hope will have a positive and lasting impact on children.
Seeing this amazing feedback is incredibly humbling…especially as we go through such strange times…and I’m so happy that you and your readers have taken to the book in such a positive and embracing way.
    Thank you.
