A few years back, we went to every single adventure golf within a reasonable distance of our house. It was a year of exploring them all, rating them, and deciding the best golf place. Since then, we often do at least one round of adventure golf per holiday that we are on, as they are such a classic way to spend time. When we were last at Legoland Windsor, we saw that they were building the Legoland Windsor Adventure Golf – an indoor, Lego-themed golf course, and we said we would go when they opened. Now, we took the chance!
As it is super rainy in England, having your adventure golf course indoors does give people more of a chance to play it! We’ve only been to a few indoor adventure golf courses, and always found that the course itself is in better condition and it’s easier to go when the weather is going to be unpredictable or too rainy to do something outside. The Legoland Windsor Adventure Golf isn’t within the park itself and has it’s own free parking lot, which makes it a day out in itself.
When booking up tickets, you do not get to choose which of the four courses you are going to end up in at Legoland Windsor Adventure Golf. When we arrived, we were told that the system suggested the Space Themed course, as it sort of processes everyone so nobody is waiting too long, and we did have the chance to change it if we wanted. We stuck to the space course though! Before the course starts or after you finish, you can grab a bite to eat at the cafe at the front and have a play on the Lego tables. We did check this area out, and it’s a nice addition.
Our first reaction to the Space are of the Legoland Windsor Adventure Golf was at how cool and new everything is! It is a really new adventure golf course – maybe the newest we have ever been too, and it felt new. The courses felt like nobody had ever touched them before. The statues and Lego aspects in the space area were very neat – this place had many holes that were themed around getting the ball into a spinning hole, for it to be dumped out elsewhere. The holes themselves were on the shorter side, and there are nine in total on each course, making this for a bit of a short experience. We were able to complete all of the Space area in 30 minutes, with the five of us! There was a few confusing points at where the start and end of the specific hole was, but we figured it out.
Robin, Amelia and I all picked the hole where there is a giant UFO with a green, light-up lego tube abducting your ball to be our favorites, where as Kai like one with a giant, 3D Moon featured on it, and Dann enjoyed the ones that had aliens! It’s well themed and decorated, with plenty of space to watch around each hole and navigate around other people who might be playing. It is a bit on the short side, however, especially for the price. It’s worth using your half off another course and playing two at the time you attend, which is an upgrade you can do at the counter at the end of your game.
We also got a pop badge for attending the Legoland Windsor Adventure Golf, though it was pretty generic and we wished that there was one for completing each of the different courses! Though our time there was short, it’s a very nice and well themed adventure golf, and I can see this being a good add-on for those who have spent the day at Legoland.
You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!
