French Food at Les Felibres

While in Paris for Pokemon Go Fest 2025, I wanted to arrange some sort of meal for all of our Harlow community who was coming. There were about 20 of us attending the event, with most of us free on the Friday evening, so that’s when I planned the meal for. Dann spent some time looking up areas, and though there were some fantastic Asian options, we wanted something everyone would find good, so he picked Les Felibres as they had fish n chips, burgers, and some duck!

We booked easily on line, with an email confirmation as our party was quite large, before being all ready for the day. Some of our party did arrive like half an hour early, but the restaurant let them right in and they got drinks to start along with some pretzels for the table, which was nice. Others, as it always is with a large group, came slightly late, so we had some staggered ordering and eating. Despite being like this, Les Felibres were kind and accommodating! There aren’t any English menus, but a few of the dishes are written in English next to it, and we all bumbled through it getting the gist of what we each wanted to order.

Duck Confit

I chose Duck Confit, which feels like a really classic French dish to me, which was a giant duck leg over a bunch of potatoes. The potatoes were thinly sliced, cooked in a lot of butter and oil. The duck itself had some crispy bits of skin and the meat was very tender, falling off the bone. I am someone who likes more intense flavors, generally, but this dish was very good over all and exactly what was expected in the name.

Beef Carpaccio

Dann loves his raw beef, so he ordered some Beef Carpaccio at Les Felibres. The waitress explained, twice, that it was not a steak, but we did know what it was. There were plenty of thinly sliced, raw beef, along with a fresh pesto over the top, some pine nuts, parm, lemon, arugula, and some balsamic. It’s a bunch of bold, bright flavors! Dann shared a bit with me, which was very flavorful and I did enjoy the pesto. They brought over table bread as well, which to me, went well with this dish. Dann also got a side of fries, which needed salt, but were good as well.

We also saw our friends order fish and chips, and burgers, all of which were decent sizes and looked lovely. There were live music playing at the venue, which was a fantastic touch, and seems like something they do regularly. The venue was very free-flowing, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for the lovely weather we were having while in Paris. If you are in the area and are looking for some French food, I’d recommend it!
