Easter Fun at Lush Chelmsford Easter Party

Last Easter holiday, we spent a lot of time at Easter Trails in Essex. This time, we wanted to do some fun activities that were Easter themed, but not trails out and about. So, we went along to the Lush Chelmsford Easter Party! They actually do a bunch of different party events throughout the year. We have seen a few of them and know people that went to them, but have never ended up booking up one for ourselves. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but everyone was in good spirits to try something new – even Kai, the most teenager of the bunch.

When we got there we had a look around and spent some time exploring the products before the event started. We don’t have a Lush in our town, so aren’t often at one, but we do love bath bombs and fun products. Robin, Amelia and Kai had a lot of fun smelling things and poking jellies! When they were ready for the party to start, Robin was sort of in control of our little group. She was handed a riddle, that pointed to a product, where an egg was hidden. At the Lush Easter Party, we were sort of finding these eggs, in order, to get a riddle to the next egg. Robin and Amelia both took turns reading and finding them, with Kai smirking as he spied them before one of the girls found them.

Finding the final egg led us to one of their bath bombs – the Chirpy Chick. This is sort of two bath bombs in one – a chick head and a red body. We got to put this in a giant bowl to make a potion, which Robin continued to take the lead on. She picked some products off the shelf and they let her mix them in. One of the things she picked was a body gel, which they then used two big containers to froth up, making the potion really frothy. Once we all had a bit of a stir of the potion, we went onto the next activity.

The Lush Easter Party had us creating our own bath bombs! After putting on gloves, we then painted in some luster dust on a little rabbit carrot, before adding in some bath bomb filling that all three of our kids mixed together and played around with. Filling the bath bomb wasn’t very hard at all, and we pressed them shut before they wrapped them up for us to take home later. After this, we got to play around with some of the Lush clay soap, creating a little Easter Egg design. This was quite simple but fun as well – and we got to take this sample home too. After that, we splatted an egg gummy shower item onto a board to see who could get it to stick for the longest – which was extremely silly.

I do feel that the Lush Easter Party is aimed at children and tweens, though Amelia did very much like the bath bomb creating and decorating the little egg. Kai participated and was happy to be out of the house doing an activity for a bit, so that’s always good too. We each got a goodie bag to take home, which had our two crafting items, along with a sample of their jelly golden egg. I do think it’s an interesting thing for Lush to be doing!
