Mini Christmas Trees | Craft

*AD – the Luxury Twine Selection Bos in this review was gifted to our household for this post. All opinions, as always, are our own.

I really love the look of little Christmas trees, and making them out of twine makes a sort of rustic, lovely looking tree that looks great on a fireplace, on your TV stand or wherever else you want to add some festive cheer. These little trees were super easy to make and quite fun to work on. They don’t need a whole lot of materials so you can totally work on them last minute as a centre piece.

Materials:

  • Polystyrene trees
  • Twine – I used Luxury Twine Selection Box – they have a lovely Christmas range
  • Pom poms
  • Sequins
  • Glue (I used a hot glue gun, but any glue will do)

When it comes to making your tree, you just need to slowly — working from the bottom — put glue on your polystyrene tree. Start wrapping your twine around, making sure to push it downwards so that there aren’t many gaps. Once you have made your way to the top, cut the twine and wrap it around as close to the top as possible. Next, you’ll want to add a pom-pom to the top, to close off the seam. From there, you can decorate your tree with various sequins! I stuck to one shape so that they looked like ornaments.

I made a few trees, a larger one and a smaller one by cutting the tree base in half, to make a little family of them. You don’t have to just use green twine and can use any type of twine really, which will make some interesting trees. I think these trees came out really cute and hope you enjoy them as well.
