[Ad- gifted product] This might be one of those posts that feels a lot like TMI, but at the same time, I feel so much of women’s lives are stigmatized and shushed away, so here I am. Personally, I have been on injection birth control since long before COVID, with a breif break during lockdown, before returning to the medication. The depo vera injection actually stops your period completely, so it’s one less thing you need to think about and deal with, and it takes a while for your body to go back to developing the hormones you had before, which didn’t happen during lockdown for me.
A little over a year ago, Dann and I started talking more big picture, as we are at a place to start planning out more of our future and work towards more of what we want to do in our later life. With that came the decision to come off my injection. After years of not having to worry about my time of the month, I had completely forgot how messy and annoying the entire process is! As a teenager, I don’t think period panties were actually a thing at all, so as a young adult I didn’t really think they’d work. I assumed they’d be even worse to clean, however that’s actually not the case. I tried out MoliCare‘s range of leak proof panties, which surprisingly are comfortable and easy to wear.
MoliCare Absorbent Underwear is quite light weight, not feeling bulky to wear at all. It’s very absorbent, meant to have the capacity of 3 tampons, which I found to be true. There isn’t any sort of rash that appeared, for me, like with traditional pads. Everything just felt very comfortable! I was surprised that the panties didn’t feel wet during the day, and they didn’t stain at all, so there is no worry about that. MoliCare underwear is very easy to clean, just requiring the panties to be rinsed out before popped into the wash as normal.
It’s neat to see more period products on the market, providing more options for those who need it. I also like how eco-friendly and easy MoliCare is to use. It’s just another pair of underwear that sits in my dresser, for when it’s needed. I have tried a few other period panties, and I do feel these were far more comfortable and had less leakage, which is preferred!
Ooh! I want to try this panty. Sounds like I need this, and it helps me.
This was so timely! I love wearing period underwear, especially at night. I’ve tried a few different brands but am still looking for the perfect fit for me. I’ll have to look into these.
Can’t wait to try MoliCare, I have when the underwear are heavy or feel bulky…These seems to be great. I can’t wait to try them out.
I am now past the dreaded time of the month, and like you was on the injection. These were never a thing in my day and have been looking at something like this for my daughter so will look at getting her these as they look nicer than those I have seen so far
I lived in period knickers for about 3-4 weeks after giving birth to my baby because it helped with the post birth bleeding. I’m all for period knickers they’re so much more comfortable x
I know this brand, and I love it. They’re so comfortable and they work so well. I hope every woman who reads this tries them.
I might give these a try! I’ve tried other brands, and they never fit quite right. These look super comfy, though.
This is super cool! I’m a guy, so I obviously don’t need them, but I think the idea is genius. I remember a girl at school having a leak in white pants, and I felt so bad for her. I never forgot it because she was so embarrassed. I feel like these would have prevented that.
I keep trying to get my teen to try these. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Ha. It’s reassuring to know they rinse easily and don’t cause irritation, unlike some other options I’ve tried. Thank you for sharing your honest experience, Jupiter.
