This weekend is the Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Festival!

This weekend we are going to our very first music festival in Birmingham! Dann, Claire and I will be attending the Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Festival, which is very, very exciting. This festival is known to be very family-friendly, with a kids area full of bubbles and fun lights, which seems like an ideal place at a festival if you do bring along your children.

The Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Festival will be in Moseley Park and Pool this weekend, being one of the most popular events in the midlands’. There are tons of different acts preforming across a main stage, as well as dance workshops hosted around the venue, from Birmingham Royal Ballet, Drum ‘n’ Bounce, Disco Yoga, So funk, Northern Soul, just to name a few. We haven’t been to dance lessons before so are very excited for this aspect as well!

The venue also has lots of independent food stands and drinks stands, so we won’t be going hungry while we are there. One of Dann’s favorite things are food stalls, so having a bunch of artisanal options always means there is something new to try!

When it comes to the music, they’ve announced De La Soul and the Specials, The Fatback Band, The Earth Window & Fire Experience, The Wailers, Nightmares on Wax, Craig Charles, DJ Yoda, Children of Zeus, Thee Sacred Souls, Oh My God! It’s the Church, The Wailers, Lady Blackbird, Greg Wilson, Rosie Frater-Taylor, Coops and Maya Delilah, with many more preforming as well!

The Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Festival will run from Friday the 8th of July to the 10th of July, and you can grab tickets on their website! We will be writing up our experience once we are back after the weekend.

You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!
