Prestige Hamper British Deli Hamper | Review

*AD – the item in this review was gifted to our household for this post. All opinions, as always, are our own.

I think that hampers are a great gift, especially if you have a foodie in mind! A good hamper has a variety of items in it, perfect for someone to make a little charcutier board or a big treat that they might enjoy on their own or with friends. As lovers of charcutier boards and all things tasty, I was delighted when Prestige Hamper introduced me to The British Deli Hamper – full of loads of goodies for whoever receives the gift!

The Meats

I love a good bit of meat! This box had three chorizo sticks that were original flavored and one stick that was spicy! I love chorizo sticks so much, they are just tasty and delicious. The original was a bit peppery, perfectly complementing the meat itself. The spicy one wasn’t too spicy at all. It had just a bit of kick – I could have totally gone for some more but know that spicy sometimes turns off people, so having just one as a taste felt like a good mix. Along with those meat sticks, there was a – quite large – jar of pate. The pate was a basic pate – which is great as an introduction to pate and for people just curious about the taste of pate.

Cheese and Crackers

The cheese inside the box was probably my next favorite thing inside the Prestige Hamper (behind the chorizo sticks). Ours was a fancy tasting cheddar that was sharp and covered in wax. It felt less crumbly then the cheddar blocks you’d get at the store, with a much richer flavor. Again, it’s another great introductory cheese, which is exactly what you would expect in these sort of boxes. It’s simple flavors you know, just elevated. Along with this cheese, there were some oat crackers. These were super crumbly and dry, so they felt better with the pate then the cheese, but they were nice to try out!

Olives and Wine

The olives were garlic and chili flavorites black olives, which were all packaged up in a little bag. These weren’t intensely flavoried and worked well with the rest of the items in the basket. I quite enjoyed them, they had a softer texture than olives that have sat in a lot of brine for a long time. The wine was smaller-sized red wine, which went well with the cheese and meat selection, completing the entire basket.

Basket and Card

Though the one on the site comes in a wicker basket, we got one in a cute cheese-themed suitcase! this suitcase is quite nice as a decorative piece – but you can also put items inside of it, if you’d like. I think it’s very nice to have these sort of themed things if you do eat cheese often, and we do! The gift basket also comes with a little card that you can customise, which is nice.

Overall, Prestige Hamper has done well at providing a good introduction into charcutier through it’s boxes. All of the items were good starter items in increaase what you want to try when it comes to meat and cheeses. They were elevated flavors that went well together and tasted great. We put ours on a board, along with some bits from our fridge, and ate it up, feeling quite fancy, while we watched some TV. Hampers are always good when you have someone who likes food or the finer things in life and you want to give them a little gift. It’s much more thoughtful then flowers – and tastier too. Prestige Hamper has a lot of different hampers to choose from on their website, so do give them a look!
