[Ad- gifted product] Last October Jupiter wrote about the pair of Printsfield socks she’d been sent — they were custom printed with the face of our cat Pancake, and they were – all around – lovely. As a matter of fact, the only complaint was that the material that they were made from at the time lost image quality due to stretching.
Printsfield reached out to let us know that they’d changed the process, moving production to the US, their custom socks were now made from – and they kindly offered to send us another pair in order to show off the new material. No complaints from us, the socks had caused plenty of entertainment (and warm toes) around the house for the family.
This made for a good opportunity. Robin, my youngest, had been really enamoured with the socks. So we grabbed her a pair. We also got another pair, complete with Robin’s face. It probably goes without saying that she thought this was hilarious and that she was absolutely overjoyed with the new version of the Pancake socks. The socks are really only in adult size, so she’s got some growing to do before they’ll fit her.
The material is better. The stitched rows are more prominent than before — raised ridges, which appear a lot closer to sports socks than casual-wear socks — however, the image is only stretched and not warped due to this change. This is a vast improvement.
To wrap up from what was said back in October. These socks are a great novelty gift, and if you don’t think that socks quite tick the boxes then… they sell boxers, mugs, notebooks, and more too — surely the trifecta of novelty items. They just need ties and then they’ve got the whole gang of novelty clothing.
