A Day Out at Signs of the Time Music Festival

[Ad- gifted experience] Dann and I both enjoy a bunch of different types of music, so when we heard about the Signs of the Time Music Festival, we wanted to see what it was all about. We attended the festival on the Sunday, where we were very excited about seeing Feeder and Reverend and the Makers at the end of the evening. Both of us were also helping out the St Clare’s Hospice, who were the charity partners of the event, which means that we spent some of our time there presenting bracelets to people in exchange for donations to the Hospice.

Let’s get into the festival itself! This was a smaller, more low-key festival overall. There were a bunch of food vans and we got some Greek wraps, plant-based fish, fried mushrooms, and snacks throughout the day. A lot of it felt like exactly what you’d expect; pizza, fish, chicken, etc. There were also some stalls selling items; a sign stall, a St Clare’s Hospice stall, etc. There was another tent towards the back more aimed at children – they had events like circus games and gongs for kids to participate in. These stalls were along one side of the field, while the other had primarily drinks (a specific tequila place and a Pims bar, along with another bar) and two tents!

The main stage at Signs of the Time Music Festival was massive, with no sort of overhead covering. This stage had a lot more lights and visuals, as well as the bigger artists preforming for slightly longer. There are also two screens showing the stage from the sides, so that you can see even if you are in the back. On the day we went, there had been a lot of rain over the weekend, so the whole field was full of mud! The mud and rain here and there really didn’t damper anyone’s day. People were dancing in the mud, stomping in the mud, and setting up in the mud. It was slippery, full of high spirits, and fantastic.

In the smaller, blue tent there were bans that seemed to be less big compared to the ones on the big stage, but they were still fantastic. The blue tent was smaller, but covered, so it’s where a lot of people stayed whenever it was raining. This tent had a smaller stage, without screens, but was much louder than the main stage! You often could hear the music from the main stage, which was interesting. I quite enjoyed the acts I saw on this stage, as I spent some time at the start hearing the music. There was a lot of variety and a lot of new songs I hadn’t heard before.

On the main stage at Signs of the Time Music Festival, we first listened to a scar band that even did a cover of Toxic? It had fantastic energy, and we stuck around all day to see Feeder as the sunset, which was the closing act. I was most excited about Feeder, as that was the band I most knew, and I song along to a bunch of songs by them, at the very front of the stage! There is a sort of combined spirit in the air at festivals like this, that bring people together, and it provides for such an amazing vibe.

Sounds like such a delightful and relaxed festival experience! The variety of food options, from Greek wraps to plant-based fish and fried mushrooms, must have been a treat for the taste buds. The mix of stalls and kid-friendly activities adds a nice touch, making it enjoyable for everyone. And having dedicated drink areas with a tequila spot and a Pimm’s bar sounds perfect for a refreshing break.

Its great that you guys were able to help out! When it comes to festivals, these days I actually prefer the smaller low-key ones now. If you have to be at something with a crowd its nice to go to one where everyone is able to appreciate and enjoy the experience! So glad you guys had a fun!
