Lots of options for lunch at Slice Milano

When looking for somewhere to get lunch while in Milan, we wanted to get some pizza. Dann and I are hit and miss with pizzas, often not being impressed by the toppings they have as options in places we’ve previously been, so when we saw Slice Milano, we thought it looked a little different and fun. This is a pizza place that does pizza by the slice, where you can get a bunch of different slices instead of having to get a whole or half of a pizza. Their slices are quite large in size and feature a thicker crust, as they seem to be baking each individual slice that you order, to order.

Soul and Diablo Slices

I got two XL slices as they have a deal for two different flavor XL slices at once. I picked out the Soul slice and the Diablo slice. Both of which had tomato-based! The Soul was a very interesting slice of pizza and I think my favorite of the two, though I loved them both. The Soul slice had rocket on top, lots of mushrooms and different types of olives, and a giant ball of burrata. It was very fun to break a part the burrata and spread it into the pizza. The bottom was so crispy and this soft cheese did well with it! The Diablo on the other hand had a normal gorgonzola cheese topping, then ‘nduja and spicy sausage. It had a good kick to it, though was similar to other pizza slices I had before, was very comforting.

Mortazza and Casa Mia

Dann, being even more adventurous than me, went with the Mortazza pizza slice and the Casa Mia pizza slice. The Mortazza pizza had tons of slices of mortadella, which is a deli meat with a soft texture. There was cheese on the pizza and also a soft cheese on top, along with pistachios! His other slice was more traditional, the Casa Mai, which had tomato sauce, cheese, and a chili jam and parm on top. Dann isn’t the biggest fan of parm, so felt it was a little overdone, but he enjoyed it!

Slice Milano feels like a very casual place to grab a slice of pizza and not be disappointed. I do like that each slice is made per order and that there is a large variety of different slices to choose from, that feel unique to the place. I do think we’d eat here semi-regularly if we had one in our home town.
