[Ad- gifted experience] Dann and I got the chance to go along to Diggerland, which is a very unique amusement park. This place is aimed at either toddlers who really like construction materials or at adults that have always wanted to control big machines but have not had the space or time to do so. It’s an interesting idea; a big park full of different construction machines, plenty of spaces to use them, and some construction themed rides.
Kai, being a teenager, doesn’t have a lot of interests beyond playing video games! There aren’t a lot of days out that feel like something he specifically would enjoy, so when he said he would like to see jousts, we went to one that same weekend. Then, when we saw a second joust happening at Hever Castle, we obviously went to that one as well. Hever Castle isn’t a castle we have visited before, but we did want to focus on the Joust so didn’t end up booking to see inside the castle. The grounds and gardens themselves are actually massive!
[Ad- gifted experience] One of our goals this year was to see more animals! This was something Robin had picked as a New Years goal, so we wanted to go out to something over the summer holiday that had a bunch of animals. Port Lympne Safari Park not only had tons of animals to look at, but also had a safari trip that allowed us to learn and see so many more animals out in large spaces, so we were very excited to head along! This place is absolutely massive, we were in no way able to explore it all on the day we went, so it’s well worth checking out the map and deciding where you want to go. We skipped out on the Dino Walk, due to wanting to focus on animals, and did prioritize monkeys as they were the most exciting thing for us all. There are also feeding times listed at the entrance, if you want to watch an animal feeding.
While going to an event in Rochester, we wanted to go out for a nice meal! Dann got to picking a location, and as I had just gotten back from Madrid, he figured having a bunch of Spanish food would be fun. Dann’s grandmother is Spanish, so he had Spanish food growing up, however we don’t make much Spanish food and often don’t eat it. Dann excitedly selected Ole Rochester and it was a fantastic decision.
We do spend a lot of time at the beach! As someone who grew up landlocked, I really just love the beach and the sounds of the ocean. As we have three children that all love swimming about and playing in water, they love going to the beach too. We have a local beach we really love going too, but with so many sunny days in a row, we wanted to check out somewhere new and found Herne Bay Pier!
