Sherlock Holmes and the Hunt for Moriarty at The Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch

[Ad- gifted experience] Sherlock Holmes is an iconic, household name, and as such there is a lot to live up to! We went to see Sherlock Holmes and the Hunt for Moriarty at the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch. This performance had a lot of characters played by medium sized cast, with many switching characters throughout the show. Watson was both the character and the narrator, needing to switch seamlessly between the role. There were a bunch of costumes used to subtly change the characters as well, so that side characters were all different. These costume changes were quick, between moments, which was very impressive!

Enjoying Matilda the Musical at Cambridge Theatre

We have been known to very much enjoy a trip to the theatre, but occasionally we book up the larger productions that have their own set theatre in London. Using the Kid’s Theatre Week discount, a few years back, we saw Wicked the Musical. Since then, Amelia has asked about seeing Matilda the Musical in London. This year, we were lucky with the Kid’s Theatre Week queue and ended up booking Matilda the Musical at Cambridge Theatre.

Watching The Baddies at Cadogan Hall Theatre

[Ad- gifted experience]Ā The Baddies is a very popular children’s book written and illustrated by Julia Donaldson, which has been turned into an hour long stage performance! We went along to the show at Cadogan Hall Theatre, which was a new theatre for us. There is a main hall, where they had a background for pictures and a little stand selling The Baddies book, along with other items from other books written by the same author. There was also a little bar and a lot of seating – with plenty of options for snacks for children.

Natural History Museum Exhibition Space: Could Life Exist Beyond Earth?

[Ad- gifted experience]Ā The Natural History Museum is a large, free to enter museum in London that is a fantastic educational day out for all ages. It’s one of those places to see in London, especially with their newly created Dinosaur garden out the front, which we loved going through to get to the main museum itself. Often, they have temporary exhibitions, that highlight a specific topic. Previously, we’ve been to the Birds: Brilliant and Bizarre and were excited when we were asked to explore the Space: Could Life Exist Beyond Earth? exhibition, which does require a separate ticket, which is honestly well worth the price.

A Birthday Dinner at Burger and Lobster Restaurant

Dann and I went to our friend Oscar’s Birthday Party at the restaurant Burger and Lobster. Dann and I aren’t fans of burgers or lobster, and with a name like this, we weren’t really sure what we were going to eat! Excited to celebrate with our friend, however, we headed there. It was actually an extremely busy day for us, so we arrived about five minutes late. There are a few different locations, so when I entered the one we were meant to be at and the manager said we were at the wrong place, that we needed to take a train, I really thought I had messed up, until he saw I was actually getting flustered and said he was kidding, offering to get us a drink. This manager had a lot of personality!
