Watching Cinderella at The Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch

[Ad- gifted experience] It’s Christmas time, which in England means there are tons of pantos. Last year, I went to my first ever panto and had a wonderful time. Cinderella had a lot of the same actors from the previous panto I saw at The Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch, so I was well excited to see it. Cinderella is a classic story, but like most plays, this one felt unique and with a twist.

Dinner and Games at Draughts Hackney

[Ad- gifted experience] Draughts is a board game bar that has a few different locations in London! Dann and I decided to invite a bunch of friends to Draughts in Hackney, where we had some food and enjoyed some board games. As you can play both longform and short board games here, they work on a sort of booking slot time, where you can pay a fee to come in and enjoy their collection of games for a set amount of hours, ordering any food and drinks you’d like to have on top of that fee.

Night Out at Halloween at Kew Gardens

Our family absolutely loves Light Walks at Christmastime and have done a bunch of events at Kew Gardens previously, so when I saw Halloween at Kew Gardens, I was pumped to see if the light walk feel could be translated to the Halloween concept. I didn’t want to spoil exactly what it was, so I just booked up tickets and parking, and then waited for the date to come around!

A Moonless Night Film – Captivating Art

[Ad- gifted experience] Claire and I went to the Rich Mix to experience A Moonless Night, the first film from Snowapple Collective. Born from some poems written during COVID, a Moonless Night is more of a work of art showcased through the medium of film then a film created for the cinema. The creators of this piece worked from some poems that were written by one of them, about the concept of not being able to sleep. Being stuck in the madness of a moonless night, one that never ends.

Watching The Turn of the Screw at The Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch

[Ad- gifted experience] Dann, Tom and I all went to the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch for the opening night of The Turn of the Screw – a performance that is based on Henry James’ classic ghost story but has been adapted to the stage. The Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch is our favorite theatre. No matter what seat you end up getting, you will be able to see the stage. There is a lovely cafe and bar outside the main theatre and they have a little stage that you can take a photo on if you’d like. I am not sure when they started doing this, but the bar has a special cocktail for the feature play, which is very fun too!
