Exploring Nature in The Gooderstone Water Gardens

Dann and I made a day of being in King’s Lynn when I was in the area for a work trip, so we headed to The Gooderstone Water Gardens, as Dann always loves a little walk around a nature reserve, and so do I! The Gooderstone Water Gardens is a really interesting area, as it feels quant; like someone’s large back garden that they’ve let us all wander around. This area has a car park, which is easy to find, and then a little entrance. There wasn’t anyone there – but there was a card reader asking people to pay a fee to enter, with the concept of trust being the judge! If you are a resident, then the price is much cheaper, but there are also options to have season tickets and different rates in the summertime and wintertime.

Dinner at The Woodland Kitchen and Bar

I went to King’s Lynn for a work event, and as we were there for an entire day, we decided to go to The Woodland Kitchen and Bar for a large, early dinner before my talk. This is actually a restaurant that’s on-site for a holiday location, but we didn’t know that when we checked Google Maps to see nearby places that Google thought I would like. Dann and I always order too much, but we especially do when everything starts coming out looking and feeling so delicious. Our experience at The Woodland Kitchen and Bar was fantastic and we did, in fact, order too much!

Geeky Date Night at The Dice Box King’s Lynn

While I was in King’s Lynn for a work event, Dann and I decided to check out the local area. We were recommended The Dice Box, which had recently opened in the area, and was actually running some sort of event night. We have our local Geek Retreat and have been to similar board game themed places like the Loading Bar in London, so wanted to check this out! The Dice Box is a franchise, like Geek Retreat, so there is a system to it and similar ones across the country have the same vibes.

Luminate at Sandringham Estate – Light Trail

[Ad- gifted experience] We are a huge fan of light trails and love exploring them, whenever we can! Wintertime is just made so much better with light trails. When looking for some new light trails to explore, we headed to Luminate at Sandringham Estate. Luminate is putting on a few different events at various locations across England and Wales, so it’s worth checking to see if they have one near you and which one would be best for you as well.

All American Dinner at Zak’s Yankee Diner

It’s become a bit of a tradition to crash Dann’s Mother’s holiday in Waxham Sands each summer. She has a tradition of caravanning in Waxham Sands Holiday Park, but as we aren’t really a caravan family, Dann, our kids and I normally stay somewhere nearby. This year, that was extremely close to Zak’s Yankee Diner – an American style diner with tons of American classics. I’ve been to a few American Diners in Great Yarmouth, and they haven’t really impressed me, as an American who’s been to diners in America. With that said, I had hopes for Zak’s Yankee Diner, especially as they have three locations and have been going since 1976!
