The 10 Best Gifts for Kids 2019

[Ad- gifted products] When it comes to shopping for children around Christmas time, there are just so many options! Loads of age range, things to consider, far too many blind box-esque toys and a lot of bright colors. We have taken the time to compile a big list of all of the children’s toys we’ve recently discovered and enjoyed. Starting with younger children’s toys and moving towards toys for older kids, we hope you find something you’d like or an idea of where to go!

Wooden Food Toys

Age: 3+ | Price: Depends on the kit.

Wooden Food Toys are a fun toy for younger children. Being made out of wood, these toys are far more durable and more sustainable then their plastic alternatives. There is a large variety of them to choose from, we tend to pick up smaller sets here and there to build up a diverse collection. From random meats and veggies, to various desserts, it’s great to have some play food around for kids to pick up and play with!

Junior Inventor Deluxe Scientific Workbench

Age: 4+ | Price: £82.18

The Junior Inventory Deluxe Scientific Workbench is one of the coolest workbenches we’ve ever seen. Aimed at little inventors, it’s got loads of pieces that can be screwed on (by children) to a backboard or desk surface. This can make various moving parts, levers, etc to complete 15 different experiments. If you’re looking to get your child into science early on, this workbench is a very good, child-friendly start.

Blopens Pastel, Shimmer, & Neon Packs *

Age: 4+ | Price: £9.99 each

Blopens are a craft kit Jupiter had as a kid. They are markers that are basically in a tube, which you blow into, to make a spray-paint effect across paper. John Adams have released three sets, each containing 5 pens, 5 stencils and 5 sheets of paper. They come in Neon, Pastel and Shimmer – at just 9.99, these are a great addition to an arts and crafts box and a very affordable gift for those looking for something a bit smaller to purchase. Plus, being a bit different from normal markers, they make for a fun time!

Nestlings *

Age: 5+ | Price: £28.50 each

Nestlings, which we reviewed earlier in the year, continue to be a family favourite. These toys are soft, fluffy, make noise, and eventually lay a pod that produces a small baby. Then another small baby. These babies do interact and talk to their adult Nestling. They can also be put back into the Nestling to be re-born once again. Kids really seem to enjoy the different modes, light up colours, and the tiny babies as well.

From The Sewer To The Stars: The Rise Of The WatAdventurers *

Age: 6+ | Price: £24.99

From the Sewer to the Stars: The Rise of the WatAdventurers is a personalized story book for your children to enjoy. You are able to easily personalize the book, by entering your child’s name and picking out a character that resembles them online. The book itself contains a bunch of challenges, as well as comic-book story pages, throwing your child into the adventure! The over-all theme is sustainability and the environment, which is very good to teach children at a young age. The characters in this book are also just super well written and fun to read about.

Disney Frozen II My Light-Up Jewellery *

Age: 6+ | Price: £21.44

Frozen II just came out and it seems to be another hit with all of the little ones. If you’ve got a slightly older child who is interested in jewelry, the Disney Frozen II My Light-Up Jewellery is a pretty neat kit to get! They get to create their own Frozen II inspired jewelry, which then can light up. Even if you’re not a fan of Frozen, the fact that your bracelets or necklaces light up is pretty awesome.

Boomtrix Showdown *

Age: 8+ | Price: £53.36

Boomtrix is a good toy for older children who like making their own tracks to bounce balls along them to the end. With a bunch of different platforms, trampolines, goals, etc, building your own arena to bounce a ball across can be done over and over again. There are several expansion packs that add new items into the track, but this base one can be used quite a bit on it’s own. It takes a bit of practice, but soon tracks are pretty understood. This sort of game can also be played with more than one kid, working together to build a functioning track.

GraviTrax

Age: 8+ | Price: £33.32

GraviTrax, similar to Boomtrix, is a really fun toy for older children – you’re basically building a bunch of physics-based, ball rolling tracks across a hexagonal base. There are a bunch of expansions, adding different pieces, but the base version of this can be played over and over again as you make new tracks and try out new ramps. This set does have a base to it, so children just need to add the pieces on top. The goal is just to get the ball to the end, which children will sit down and figure out over time!

Zimpli Kids Snoball Battle. Pack of 60 *

Age: 3+ | Price: £4.99

Zimpli Kinds Snoball Battle Pack is an especially wonderful gift if you live somewhere that does not snow. This is a pack of powder that you can add to water, to create a snow-like substance that can be packed into snowballs and played with. This stuff is a bit more jelly-like then snow normally is, and is not cold, but if you live in places where it doesn’t snow enough for fights, this is a great alternative that can provide some winter fun and feelings! It’s biodegradable and can be scooped up to clean it away, throwing it into your green bin!

Husqvarna Toy Lawnmower

Age: 3+ | Price: £41

If you’ve got a child who loves gardening or helping out around the house, getting them a little lawn mower will not only prepare for them to actually mow the lawn in the future, but it will also allow them to pretend to do adult stuff like mow the lawn. When I was a kid, I was given play vacuums and loved them – this is like the outdoor version, but it comes with a light up engine and makes realistic sounds. It’s a super cute idea for a little one who wants to help out in the garden. Husqvarna has a bunch of awesome garden toys just like this, which you can find in the catalog on ARB & Grounds.

There are so many gifts out there, but these were a few that caught our eye in this bright coloured, toy filled time of year.

I love wooden toys and most of the toys i’ve asked others to get my kids have been wooden ones, they last so much longer and look nicer… although my kids love plastic ones like LOL and Barbie so they’re getting a mix!

I want that boomtrix for myself!
