The Grinch: Christmas Adventures has you destroying Christmas!

The Grinch: Christmas Adventures

The Grinch is someone who always is talked about in the runup to Christmas in our home. It might be because of all of the Dr. Seuss items we have, or just the shier amount of Grinch-themed items we see, but either way, The Grinch is a part of our Christmas traditions. Robin was delighted and excited when she found out that The Grinch: Christmas Adventure allowed you to become the Grinch himself, destroying Christmas.

The Grinch: Christmas Adventure is a platformer where The Grinch and his dog Max are going on a fairy-tale adventure to steal Christmas, again! Whoville is currently far away, but you will need to play as The Grinch and Max to steal gifts, find puzzle pieces, and avoid a bunch of different objects on the screen. Like most of Outright’s Games, this game can be played a single player experience or as a two player experience with one person playing as Max! Max cannot die from the obstacles, but is needed often to push buttons or get to specific areas. Robin liked being Max more than being the Grinch, as she enjoyed the fact that she could just walk her way through anything. It’s worth noting that Max does not jump as high as the Grinch once you unlock Double Jump, so you will need to wait for Max to automatically teleport when he cannot make it to an area.

This game has a mix of cut scenes, platforming elements, and little mini-games within it. One section has you hiding from gingerbread men, while another has you going into the background, to avoid a bunch of hazards, before being brought back to the surface. I quite enjoyed all of the fully voiced narration, which follows a story and rhymes! The Grinch: Christmas Adventure feels like a well made, fun game for all ages – especially if you are a big fan of the Grinch himself. The game isn’t too challenging at all, and is a good, family friendly experience.
