Each year, for our anniversary, we go to The Lakes Hotel and Spa, and while there go out for food nearby. Dann picked out Baha Bowness, which was right near another restaurant we quite enjoyed, as a new place to try out. Their food looked good, a nice Korean-fusion going on, and it didn’t match that of the pubs that can be found in the area – which is exactly what we were looking for. The general vibes were great – fantastic music and good staff. It’s also a dog friendly venue, which works well with all of the people walking their dogs along the lake. They also have live music on a lot of the nights, if that’s something you’re into.
Sour Cherry, Dirty Dragon and Yuzu Lemon Drop

The cocktails at Baha Bowness were fantastic. You can see why it’s also a club, with an upstairs where they have a DJ. I got the Sour Cherry, which tasted a lot like an adult Shirley Temple and a Dirty Dragon which was a dragon fruit cocktail that was very refreshing! Dann ended up getting two of these Yuzu Lemon Drop drinks, which tasted like a lemon ice pop! All of the drinks came out quickly and were very well made.
Baha’s Luxury Steak Board

Dann and I often like sharing food, so we went with Baha’s Luxury Steak Board, which normally comes with a red wine pairing, but we got that swapped out for a cocktail and a dessert. We also upgraded our fries to the truffle fries. The rest of the board had a 14 day aged 28oz chateaubriand, which was cooked absolutely stunningly, coated in a bone marrow garlic butter. Absolutely one of the best cuts of meat I have ever had. We could pick two sauces at Baha Bowness, so we went with the gochujang bearnaise, which ended up being Dann’s favorite of the two, and the nam jum, which is a citrus, chilli, garlic dip. I quite liked the meat on it’s own as it already had so much flavor.

There was a giant tiger prawn, that was also in the butter, which Dann very much enjoyed as I do not eat fish. Along side this meat, there were a bunch of beautiful king oyster mushrooms, glazed beef tomatoes, and a bunch of vegetables. Though sometimes vegetables are a bit of an afternote, these were coated in a fantastic sauce that really brought them up a notch!

The side salad and Korean spiced mac n cheese that came with the dish were just okay. We both got a side salad, but it just felt like it was unneeded and underwhelming and the mac n cheese needed far more cheese, but it did have pulled beef throughout it. They had their own cut of fries, which are a little thick curly fries. We got ours with truffle salt and parm, which had a good amount of flavor and crispiness.
Lyth Valley Damson Blossom Cheesecake

We of course got the cheesecake upgrade, because how can you not?! This cheesecake was unlike anything I have ever had. With a tree made of cotton candy and tempered chocolate over a mountain of raspberry ice cream, with a flavorful sauce on top of a light cheesecake – it was magical. I would come back just for this! The cotton candy was also flavored raspberry, something that I didn’t even know you could do – the entire thing was wild and tasted so good.
We had a fantastic time at Baha Bowness and will be coming back again, especially for their steak and desserts, but maybe to catch some live music as well.
I love a good steak and this sounds fantastic! Truffle fries are also a favourite of mine too. That dessert really does look magical – almost too good to eat!
Omg! All the food and drinks look so good. I just wish I were near the place.
Ohh that steak board looks so good, that’s definitely what we’d order if we went. You find some great restaurants x
Steak board? 🙂 Where do you find such cool places. That steak is perfectly done and the sides look just enough to complement. Definitely looking forward to try.
omg…Why are you doing this to me lol…Everything looks soooo good…The \ Steak board, OMG….Delicious…
Holy cow, this looks so good! This is the best surf and turf combo I’ve seen!
That’s what I’m talking about! I’d love to share this with my GF for a nice night out. That raspberry ice cream looks amazing, too.
I do love a decent steak restaurant, sadly this will be something I do not do that often now as my daughter will not eat steak. I will look out for it though as am sure I can find something else for her the food looks amazing
This looks super yummy! Got to try this place soon!
