I always get the itch to do some extra baking and treat-making around Valentine’s Day. Each year, I do these cookie or treat boxes for our local Pokemon Go community, which is always a lot of fun. Valentine’s Day isn’t as big of a deal as it is in America, but it is still a fun little holiday to enjoy. In some of these recipes, the sprinkles are really doing all of the heavy lifting, so you’ll need to find some Valentine’s Day sprinkles that you very much enjoy both the look of and eating!
Valentine’s Pretzel Toffee
This is a very easy, minimal baking treat. You just need to combine equal parts brown sugar and butter (I did one cup of each) into a pot. Let these boil until the sugar is dissolved, and then it gets poured over a layer of pretzels. This whole thing goes into the oven for about 5 minutes, it will be set by this point, then you can add on a bunch of white chocolate chips. I pop the tray back int he oven, then spread out the chips, making a chocolate layer. From there, you can add sprinkles and more pretzels. Once the Valentine’s Pretzel Toffee has cooled, you can crack it and eat it! Robin particularly liked this, but it’s always a favorite anyway.
A Giant Cookie
There is something sort of couple-y about a giant cookie. I use the Tollhouse cookie recipe, but swap the chocolate chips for white chocolate around Valentine’s Day. I then bake the entire thing, like a cookie bar, but inside of a cake dish. This makes a round cookie, often with a bit of a lip, so you could add chocolate covered strawberries, ice cream, or cut the cookie and add whipped cream onto it. Amelia really loves this, and if you add frosting and sprinkles, you can dress it up to be very much in theme. If I was in America, I would probably add the M and M’s which are Valentine’s Day themed, but they don’t have those here.
Valentine’s Day Cereal Treats
Cereal treats are always so much fun! While we were looking for some cereal boxes for Robin’s school project, we stumbled upon these Strawberry Cheerios which sounded perfect for a Valentine’s Day treat! We combined ours with some pink marshmallows and butter, before putting it in a lined tray. I sprinkled heart sprinkles over the whole thing, for a bit more of a Valentine’s Day look, and then cut them into squares. They are perfect for packed lunches in the lead up to Valentine’s Day.

All of these Valentine’s treats look so good – and easy to make too! I think I might have a go at the cereal one with the Cheerios!
These are lovely treat ideas for Valentines Day. I will try to make the second, we have a cookie sweet tooth!
The Valentine’s Day Pretzel toffee sounds like such a great idea as it seems to be easy to make and looks awesome too. I know the kids would enjoy helping me by adding the sprinkles they haven’t eaten when we get to that stage lol.
These pretzels omg, they look delicious and perfect for valentine. I can’t wait to make them. Thank you so much for the inspiration.
We love a cookie dish like this, especially when it’s served warm with ice cream. I may need to try and make one of these for Saturday after our little one has gone to bed x
These are all great ideas. I think I’m going to frost a giant cookie for the fam for Valentine’s Day.
That toffee recipe reminds me of the snacks my neighbor brings to game nights. The mix of salty pretzels with white chocolate is way better than the standard milk chocolate versions people usually make.
The giant cookie is the kind of treat that both my husband and me would enjoy together!!
We don’t really make Valentine’s Day treats but I may just bake a giant cookie! We’ll see!
These sweet treats look so yummy! If my daughter were home from university, I’d make the Valentine’s Pretzel Toffee because we like the salty sweet combination.
