Top 6 Non-Chocolate Advent Calendars for 2019

If you’re like us, you’re not the biggest fan of chocolates. We don’t really need one every single day of December, and would very much rather have any other candy or even small items as my surprise. In America, we don’t really do advent calendars, so Jupiter didn’t really think there was a huge variety when she came to England – but it turns out there is! We have picked out our advent calendars for this year, after a bunch of research, and will be telling you about them as well as a few bonus ones that we though were so cool!

Tinc Kids Advent Calendar

Tinc is doing two different advent calendars this year, a large stationary only box and a smaller toy and stationary box. We went with the toy and stationary box for the middle child, as she is a big fan of stationary and toys. Inside, there are various cute pencils, erasers, key chains, small puzzles, highlighters, whistles, balls, bracelets, and other small toys. There isn’t anything edible in this advent calendar, which was perfect for us. If you know someone that goes through stationary, these are really good advent calendars for them!

Miraculous Be Advent Calendar

Advent Calendar

The youngest is obsessed with Miraculous Be, so when we saw an advent calendar focusing on just the series – full of beauty products and accessories for children – we just had to grab one up. There are bracelets, hair pins, hair chalk, lip stick, and various other beauty bobs. A few of the doors have similar things behind them, but for a smaller child who really loves the cartoon, it works very well!

Lego City Advent Calendar

The eldest child really is into Lego, so we went with the Lego City Advent Calendar for him, as the Lego pieces would go well with quite a few of his Christmas gifts and the toys he already has. Lego do a few different calendars, including a Star Wars themed one, but the City themed one is perfect for children who haven’t really seen Star Wars or just aren’t big fans of the series. It’s a bonus that these toys go so well with toys he already has or is getting.

Gourmet Marshmallow Advent Calendar

Advent Calendar

Marshmallows are normally a huge thing this time of year and the Gourmet Marshmallow Advent Calendar rotates through 6 different flavors of hand made marshmallows. If you’re a fan of marshmallows or want to try something different, this is a great calendar to go for! There is also a joke, fact, or discount code behind each door, to go with your delicious marshmallow. The last door, technically, has chocolate behind it in the form of a hot chocolate spoon that you stir into some milk and a classic marshmallow to go with it.

Gourmet Popcorn Advent Calendar

Advent Calendar

This Gourmet Popcorn Advent Calendar has a bunch of different flavored popcorn treats to enjoy each and every day. With flavors like banoffee, raspberry cheesecake and chocolate orange, it’s a curiosity for anyone interested in new flavors or popcorn. We are big fans of the Joe & Seph popcorn flavors, so this feels like a natural fit to anyone curious enough to give it a try.

Elf Advent

Elf Advent is a completely different advent calendar as there are no physical items. Often, children don’t need sweets or small toys each and every day for a month, so instead, Elf Advent provides a different video each day for kids to enjoy. Some of them are songs or noises the reindeer make, while others are challenges – all delivered by an elf himself. If your children still believe in elfs and Santa, this feels a lot like a daily message from a mysterious person who might give you presents at the end of the month. It’s a really great idea and is very eco-friendly as there isn’t any wrapping or little toys!

There are loads of other advent calendars out there as well! If you’ve heard of one we’ve missed, feel free to comment below as we love looking at new options!

Elf advent calendar is a great idea, especially as we’re trying to reduce packaging in our household and I don’t really agree with the idea of giving the kids a gift everyday until Christmas as I feel it takes away from the actual gifts on Christmas day. We’re definitely going to give it a try this year!
