Unlimited Meat at Nelore Steak House

Dann and I have been talking about going to a Brazilian steak house for quite some time. This specific one, the Nelore Steak House in Loughton, was recommended by a friend who had gone and told us all about it – so it’s the one we were most interested in going to from that recommendation! One Saturday, we asked Kai if he wanted to go as we didn’t have anything fun on, and all of us went along.

Brazilian steak houses like this are sort of buffet style, where people bring over swords of meat (and other items) carving them off the swords and placing them onto our plates. We got the full meat and hot buffet for the experience. At our table, we had a little pair of tongs to help us grab things off of the swords, along with a red/green spinner so that we could let the staff know when we wanted more meat or when we wanted to just eat.

Dann, Kai and I started off by going to the buffet and loading up on side dishes. They had a very good buffet if I am honest! Lots of delicious, well prepared salads and side dishes; beef stew that was absolutely falling a part it as so tender. I really loved all of the different side dishes. Some of them were very refreshing too – there were cheeses and meats and salads. It’s a good break from all of the meat! At the buffet, there was also dipping sauces and there was salt on the table at Nelore Steak House, which feels great for eating the meat however you’d like.

When it comes to actually getting the main bit of your food, the staff were coming out quite often, explaining what was on their swords, and then giving out generous portions throughout! There was plenty to try from pork sausages, to cuts of beef, to shrimp and lamb. Some had different seasonings, others were different cuts of meat. The only real complaint I had was they had a very nice cut of beef that Kai and Dann got to try, but the waiter wouldn’t give me some as he felt it was ‘to rare’ so he said he would be back for more and never came back. Other than that though, the service was fantastic.

Dann found quite a few of the meats to be a lot of fun where as Dann enjoyed the entire experience. We were all also surprised when they started coming out with non-meat things on the swords; garlic bread that was soft and buttery cooked up and probably the best pineapple I have had in my life, roasted to perfection. Nelore Steak House feels upscale and fantastic. We also got some drinks from their cocktail menu, which went down well, with Kai grabbing a mocktail. It’s just a great experience – dinner and a show almost!
