At the start of the month, both of us decided to do Blogtober. This was a big challenge, and to make things a bit different, we were only counting Halloween or Autumn-themed posts. This resulted in some days having more than one post, but we now have a lot of cool seasonal content that will be fun to update and share next year! With today being the last day, we wanted to take the time to celebrate some of the posts we both really loved this month.
Days Out seems to be a favourite from the both of us, as we have been so many cool places this month, that really seem like a great fit. These places were only open for the month of October, so going out felt quite normal and like something we were doing before lockdown. Going out to the Spooky Gudetama the Lazy Egg x Artbox Cafe & Boutique with Claire felt so normal and pumpkin picking at the Pumpkin Village with the family was just a lovely time out. There were also a lot of fun times indoors – from pumpkin carving to baking pumpkin treats.
Blogtober was a fun time – despite being stressful at points. One of the things we both learned was with planning. Despite making a big list of what should go live each day, without these posts being pre-written, there is no way to really stick to the schedule. A lot of the things we ended up writing about were specific to October – from the places we went to the items that were at stores. A real lifesaver when it comes to Blogtober is picking up small items to review or take a look at on slower days. There were days when we just didn’t have anything written up and had no time, however, having a small drawer of Halloween items to take a look at was a real life saver! Days where there was more time, we were able to research and do recipes or find a way to make something fit.
Blogtober is very challenging – especially with the addition Halloween Challenge, but we had a great time. There were days when we were right on the cusp of making it, but we were able to make a Autumn themed post every. single. day. Now to rest. Hopefully we can put everything we’ve learned from Blogtober into Blogmas this year!
This post is apart of our Blogtober series, all with a Halloween or Autumn theme.
