Withings HR 36mm Rose Gold Watch | Review

Withings Watch

*AD – the item in this review was gifted to our household for this post. All opinions, as always, are our own.

I am not someone who always wears a watch. I always found that watches didn’t add enough to be worth it, but then I discovered the Withings smart watch. You see, smart watches are an entirely different breed of watch, they do so much more than normal watches. I went with the sleek Withings Steel HR 36mm Rose Gold White Dial Grey Silicone Wristband – a watch that has a big name that’s mainly description.

When it came to features, the Withings watch has a lot of them! When you look at the face, you can see the time, as well as a smaller dial on the bottom that shows how close you are to your steps goal. In the companion phone app, you are able to set up a steps goal which is then tracked on your watch. Your phone will send you little badges and congratulation messages when you’ve hit the goals. This is quite encouraging. On the top of the watch’s face, you can see a little black circle which, when pushing the button on the side, can cycle through all of the sets you have on your watch.

For me, I had the date and time, notifications from my phone, my heart rate, my step counter, alarms and battery. You can customise this to show more options like the amount of calories you’ve burned today or less things, easily, within the app. I really liked having my notifications on my wrist as the screen showed me the messages I was being sent on Twitter or who was calling my phone, complimented by a slight vibration. This was also easy to turn off at night, just using the watch’s side button, so that I didn’t get vibrated awake. The alarm works in a similar way, where it vibrates your wrist until you are awake.

Another feature I found amazing on the Withings Watch is the sleep tracker. At night, this watch tracts when you get woken up, how deep your sleep is and when you go to sleep. It turns out, despite sleeping for long amounts of time, most of my sleep was rated poorly as I wake up a lot, spend a lot of time in light sleep, and don’t consistently go to bed around the same time. Having all of this data on my sleep meant that I could try out things like closing the windows that were normally open (which stopped the 4 am wake ups, I think it must be a noise somewhere outside) or go to sleep around the same time every day.

This Withings Watch also has a workout mode, that more closely monitors your heart beat and counts the calories you burn. It’s fully waterproof (I’ve warn it to the beach many times) and is quite scratch resistant (again, I’ve dragged it across rocks at the beach and it’s surprisingly been fine). It’s very much a watch well worth the money and has become a daily (and lightly) accessory that I always have on. The battery lasts ages too, so that’snot even a worry!

You can find this watch and many others on First Class Watches website.
