Making a Candy Pizza with Wright’s Baking Toffee Cake Mix

[Ad- gifted product] What do you do with all of your leftover Halloween Candy? In our household, we do eat pieces here and there, along with all you want to eat on Halloween itself, but we often still have tons of candy. One thing we always like doing is creating a Candy Pizza. This is a very easy way to decorate with some of the candy that hasn’t been picked from the Halloween Candy pile and just feels fun too. We used Wright’s Baking Toffee Cake mix as the base of our pizza – which can be a giant cookie or a thin cake.

Wright’s Baking Toffee Cake Mix is a bit denser than other cakes we’ve had. Amelia easily made the cake on her own by adding in oil and water and then giving it a good mix. We lined a round baking pan and then poured in about half of the mix into the bottom, creating a thin layer. This should be thin as you are making a pizza not a cake. We took the rest of the cake mix and created some cupcakes, which can also be decorated with candy if you’d like!

Once the Toffee Cake was baked, we pulled it out of the oven and let it cool. These cakes had a bunch of toffee bits melted in. This was very delightful – we really liked the toffee flavor that was inside the cake and the way they melted was very fun, getting all into the batter. Once we had the thin cake out, I topped it with some vanilla frosting, and then we set out all the candy. Candy Pizza doesn’t take tons of candy and often you need less than you end up taking out, so we had each of our kids pick some of the candy and sort of plan out their quarter. Then, they opened up the sweets and topped them!

Candy Pizza just feels fun and different – and it reminds me a lot of Halloween time. We decorated the cupcakes the next day with some candy on top as well, which was delicious. Wright’s Baking Toffee Cake Mix is not only extremely easy to make but it’s very fun! The back of the packaging has baking instructions for muffins with topping, which we will need to try next time we pick some up.
