YoYo Ball makes Yo-Yo-ing Easy!

YoYo Ball

*AD – the items in this review were gifted to our household for this post. All opinions, as always, are our own.

When I was a kid, much like Moon Shoes, I actually had a Yoyo Ball. It was the first yo-yo I ever took care of and kept, as all of the other yo-yos were far too hard for me to get the hang of. Yo-yos are often thought of as a classic toy, along with jacks and pick-up sticks. It’s something that kids just cannot avoid throughout their lives – so why not start them off with the easiest and, truthfully, best version of the toy?

Kai, Amelia and Robin had never properly tried out yo-yos before the YoYo Ball, which makes this toy even more fun. You see, the YoYo Ball is actually a yo-yo where the ball automatically retracts back to your hand, without you needing to pull your hand up or re-wind the string. The ball is not flat on the sides like a yo-yo, and instead is like a, well, ball, so you can easily grab it and throw it back. The design, two colors with a clear plastic ball around an inner ball, screams of my childhood and is eye catching enough to attract the children, with Amelia being most impressed with the smaller inner ball. It’s just a fun little toy.

Working perfect for getting kids outdoors or moving around inside if you trust them enough, YoYo Ball is a really fun toy! It’s easy to learn tricks, like Around-the-World, though things like Walking the Dog take a bit more practice as the ball will naturally want to come back quickly instead of going out. Even Dann had a go at doing tricks and impressing the kids. Robin, who is the youngest in our family, had some struggles at first and a bit of a fear of either hitting something or someone, but took to playing with the toy outside – with plenty of space to fling it about, and had a fun time throwing the ball away from herself and ensuring to catching it on it’s way back.

YoYo Ball is one of those toys that I am so glad to see back, as they bring back a lot of fun memories of me playing with them with my own dad. And, unlike when I was a kid, I know how to untie them if you do happen to get a not in your rope. It’s one of those toys that I am sure the kids will take with them to the park, play outside, and otherwise master – the yo-yo they will remember into their adulthood like I have!

I’m pretty good at using Yo Yos, but it’s definitely been a while since I used one! I would love to try a yo yo ball!

I’ve not seen these toys before. Sounds like it would be fun plus it’s great that they don’t need rewinding.
