After our first trip to Jurassic Falls Adventure Golf, the children have been itching to see the other themed golf parks around the area. The next one we took on was Pirate Cove. Pirate Cover Adventure Golf has a theme of, you guessed it, pirates and is dotted around with pirate facts and information. Jupiter really loves pirates, golf, and new golf courses, so we went along on a slightly soggy day to enjoy a bit of outdoor time before winter really hit.
Pirate Cover Adventure Golf was different from the previous golf experiences; first off, it had two different courses in it’s area. One, called Smugglers, was much more challenging while Pirate was an easier course. We went along the Pirate course, dipping into Smugglers when we saw a particularly cool looking hole that we couldn’t help but jump too. As we went towards the end of October, the place didn’t have many people there, and this was pretty easy to do (not to mention fun).
The various facts sprinkled around the park were nice, as they added interesting details about real life pirates – as was the pirate ship, pirate stations, giant octopus, and so much more to decorate around. Unlike Jurassic Falls, the stereos around the park were fewer, so there wasn’t much noise happening, which we enjoyed better. There also was less holes that had you hitting your ball into a tube and it coming out to another place, instead opting for more water features (boy did we have to rescue quite a few balls) and a cave feature.
The cave was by far the coolest hole as it was a bit dark with big stalagmites sticking down. This hole was in a room where you could see a waterfall outside. It’s very impressive looking and sets a real scene of looking for treasure. The hole within the pirate ship was also quite good as were the holes with bits of broken ship around them (which also provided for a neat challenge).
The youngest of the bunch, just 3 years old, ended up tossing her ball for most of the game, so points were irreverent and we just played for fun. That’s really the best way to play with younger kids, instead of getting all competitive we just enjoyed our time there.
There were a couple of places on the Pirate Cove Adventure path that did look like they use to be dinosaur themed (giant dino footprints like the ones at Jurassic Falls really did stand out against the pirates) but overall the theme was well presented and good. The holes were fun and in the end, we got to check out our ball inside a giant well of rainbow balls, which was pretty cool.

You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!
That looks like so much fun!
It was a great day out! I love themeing.
