How I Relax After a Long Day

2020 has been one heck of a year, so I wanted to talk about how exactly I have been relaxing in my free time. When it comes to self-care, you really do need to take the time to do things you enjoy and that relax you, so that you can recuperate! Being able to relax and having go-tos have been a really good way to calm down.

Cooking

I always love cooking, but particularly recently I have enjoyed cooking more and more. Creating small desserts and putting together menus of delicious foods have been a highlight. I have even attended a few digital cooking classes that I will be posting about soon! Creating delightful menus or just trying out something new is always fun and really helps keep your mind busy.

Doughnut Time’s Cookie Dough Sando Kit | Review

After really enjoying Doughnut Time’s DIY doughnut kit, we wanted to test more of them out! Thankfully, they are releasing new kits and collaborative kits all the time, so the next box we picked up was the Cookie Dough Sando Kit. This kit is focused around making a doughnut sandwich, stuffed with chocolate and cookie dough! Like all of these kits, the doughnuts were baked fresh and sent right to our door, for us to decorate and play around with!

This kit had six doughnuts instead of the default four, which is quite nice, and all of them are square! It is suggested that you roll all of these doughnuts in the cinnamon and sugar provided, then cut them in half for decorating. This kit came with two pots of cookie dough, a pot of mini cookie cereal, Nutella in a piping bag, a kinder Bueno bar and a Caramac bar. We split apart the different candy bars and placed them into little bowls before letting everyone create their own doughnut.

Many members of our family ended up opting out of the cinnamon-sugar coating and instead put them into their doughnut, but that’s part of the fun when it comes to Doughnut Time’s create your own kits. Splitting up the candy, cookies and dough, there was plenty for all six of the doughnuts to be fulled well and we enjoyed creating our own sandwiches! They were also super fun to eat. I’ve never had a doughnut sandwich before and quite enjoyed being able to make our own! You do need to be a bit of a chocolate lover for this kit, as it’s so heavily chocolate based, but who doesn’t love a bit of chocolate?

If you are looking for an easy and fun dessert to make with your friends or family, these kits bring all the fun to your door and really take out the stress of trying to bake something and put it together.

A Day Out at Clip n’ Climb Chelsea

[Ad- gifted experience] Rock climbing is something that, as a kid, I use to do regularly through school. My school had a rock wall and part of Gym Class required you to go on the wall every few months. As an adult, I must say, that I have not really gone out climbing in a long time. Dann and I, enticed in by bright colors and the want for a fun evening, went to Clip n’ Climb Chelsea to see how the adult, after work hours slots would be.

What Am I Watching: Searching

Dann and I often spend our evenings cuddling and watching TV. Dann has all of these TV shows and movies he’s wanted to see from the last few years, but was unable to see them at the time, so we spend some time catching up. We both really enjoy thrillers, so recently we took a look at Searching – a movie about a dad who’s daughter has gone missing, but the entire movie is shot through different technology.

The family itself is one plugged into tech – as are most in this time. He texts his daughter, sending her pictures, video calling her from his computer and emails a lot of his family members. The moment his daughter goes missing, he starts digging around in social media to find out what she was really like, who her friends were and more. This depicts a bit of a sad story of a father who thought he knew his daughter when in fact, there were lots of strange behaviours he wasn’t aware of. After her mother died, the relationship between the father and daughter shifted to one where he was left in the dark.
