Pet Head Cat Dry Clean Shampoo | Review

Some pets are a bit smellier then others. I’ve not had a cat before, but Pancake, our lovely Pancake, is sometimes a stinky cat. I don’t know what makes him stinky – it seems to be his natural scent, that he carries around. He doesn’t really get this scent on other things, it can just be smelled on him, but often it’s a bit much for a cat that always wants to cuddle. As an effort to cure our noses, and because this is pretty silly, I picked up a bottle of Pet Head Cat Dry Clean Shampoo.

Pet Head has tons and tons of products for doggos but is pretty limited in it’s cat range. Despite that, I wanted to try it out anyway. This shampoo had the scent of blueberry muffins, which was even more silly, as now Pancake would be a Blueberry Pancake, so I was totally on board. Pancake really doesn’t enjoy being wet, so we figured this would be a strange adventure for everyone.

The Body Shop Mini-Haul | Review

Now that we have been in isolation for a while, I’ve been impulse buying! I am sure many others are doing the same, but surrounded by advertisements tailored for exactly what I want with nowhere to go in the evenings have made for some great shopping hauls. I normally get a variety of bath products from Lush, but as they are no longer operating until the pandemic is over, I went looking for something new for my baths. Feeling a bit more into self-care, I picked up a few products beyond my usual body butter from The Body Shop to play around with.

Plant Pops – Popped Lotus Seeds Snack | Review

[Ad- gifted product] I don’t know about you, but we have never eaten lotus seeds before. When Plant Pops reached out, talking about a popped lotus seed snack, I was pretty interested in trying them! They harvest seeds from the waterlily plant- a type of lotus, dry them out, and then roast them so that they pop, becoming a crunchy snack. These snacks are quite low in calorie, vegan, and gluten free. Plant Pops currently offer three flavors: Peanut Butter, Smoked Chilli, and Himalayan Salt. I got to snack on all three!

These lotus seeds almost have a popcorn-like texture, which makes sense as the process seems quite similar. The biggest difference is the Plant Pops do not have the hard shells that popcorn have, you know, the ones that get trapped in your teeth and gums. It’s a much nicer experience. The flavouring on these different snacks are also really nice, with a great amount of seasoning per bite.

How Having a Pet Makes a Difference During Quarantine

Everyone has been quarantined for quite some time now, which has been difficult and annoying. The lack of human contact, all of the events for the year being cancelled or postponed, many people have started the journey that is working from home. Shops have less food and items to purchase and more restrictions. I haven’t seen the inside of a Tescos for nearly three weeks. And all through this, I am very grateful for Pancake.

Pancake, if you didn’t know, is our british short haired cat who is so soppy and lovable. He is an indoor cat, afraid of the outdoors, who isn’t very much affected by all of this chaos. We are home a bit more, which he seems quite happy about, and our blog is having more to do with him, which means new treats and food. Pancake brings a lot of balance to my life – from the start he’s added so much joy. There have been downsides, like the fact that he has ruined a rug when he first got here, but these were to be expected. He’s a curious cat who loves to be cuddled, stroked, and played with.

Mummy Meagz Rocky Road | Review

[Ad- gifted product] We do have a bit of a sweet tooth in the Sullivan-Hadley household, especially when it comes to spring time and you see all of these new chocolates appearing in stores. Rocky Road has always been an interesting treat as it’s not very common in America – or at least not really around where I lived. Rocky Road reminds me of a much more indulgent chocolate bark, with more fillings instead of just small toppings. To fill our sweet cravings, Mummy Meagz have sent us their four types of Rocky Road; Original, Minty, Orange and Salt & Tender Toffee.
