Midweek Meal Inspo; Pesto Chicken, Shrimp Sandos, Fried Rice & more

Another batch of meals has been made, as every single day we do eat dinner! As it’s been nice, warm weather out here lately, so we have been having meals that are a bit lighter and take less cooking to do then others. Some of this weeks foods came as suggestions from Robin and Amelia, while others were classics that we felt like having. Amelia was the biggest kitchen helper this week and did a lot of cooking with me, which was super fun! Anyway, let’s get into some meal inspiration for the week!

A Day Out at Horrible Histories – Barmy Britain at Harlow Playhouse

We have very nearly seen every single Horrible Histories play. With just two left, when Horrible Histories – Barmy Britain was shown as playing locally, there was no way that we couldn’t attend! We’ve actually never been to the Harlow Playhouse before, as a family, and decided to invite along one of Kai’s friends. Since Kai’s friend was with us, he was pretty busy hanging out, and we didn’t end up getting a family photo – but that’s okay, as we did enjoy the performance so much – as did his mate.

Lunch and Cocktails at The Fizzy Tarte

When it comes to eating lunch, Dann and I are not big sandwich fans generally, if I am honest. Though, we were wanting something light and not too hot when the weather was wonderful, so we took at chance at The Fizzy Tarte – a gastro-pub looking place, which serves sandwiches, charcuterie boards and craft cocktails! The Fizzy Tarte does more than just lunch and brunch. They have master classes in cocktail making and afternoon tea if that’s your thing too.

A Day Out at Shepreth Wildlife Park

In the summertime, we do enjoy going off and seeing places that have animals in them! There is so much joy that can be found in seeing animals interact with each other, be fed, and so much to learn from keepers. One of the little wildlife parks near us, that feels super understated, is Shepreth Wildlife Park. Dann and I have gone a few times as a little date night, but recently we took our kids along for the adventure! Shepreth is a really reasonably priced wildlife park with a big focus on the animals there.

Wubble is so much more than a normal ball

[Ad- gifted product] I feel like I have seen advertisements for the Wubble for years now. I am not sure why I have spent so long thinking it was just a giant ball, and that we had tons of those. Robin recently asked for a Wubble, as she told me it was much more than a ball, and something that is more like a bubble in texture, somehow. Though she is only seven and sometimes is not someone to completely trust, Robin was very right – the Wubble is much more than a ball.
